Man you guys? don't you think it might be worthwhile to have an offer to present to stephen/dktc before i ask permission?  man i really hate this game/forum and the people in it.

Where did I ever say you need to ask permission before having an offer?
i guess this is a problem with dealing with an american-english speaker who doesn't know Dutch vs. a Netherlander who is writing in English.  While you didn't say what order i needed to ask permission in, for me it is implied in your response that i need to ask permission at this point in time.  Man i'm just so tired of this forum and this game, can you guys please just let me give my airline away?  I already noted that of course we are going to have to get stephen's permission.  I know that.  Eff it man, i refuse to scrap my airplanes because i do not want the brokers to get them.

Here's at least one official response (and yes, I am an admin so don't start).

As noted in the AM Rules, specifically under points 1a and 1b, it is not allowed to have more than one airline / account in the game. This includes taking over the airline of another player while not using your own airline anymore. Violation of this rule will result in a ban. However, certain exceptions can be made to this rule if permission is granted by the AM Membership team. If you want to ask dktc's permission, please send an email describing your particular case to :staff: .
also you are not an admin, you are a FORUM MODERATOR. i thought you might want to know that !!!!!!

Also, dear CEO applicants - Mai Tai Air will not succeed if you have the same narrow minded approach that AirHanoverInternational does.  i.e. well you can't do that.   It is a prerequistite that any future CEOs of the company be willing to approach problems with a "can-do" attitude.  For instance, when Mai Tai Air started it was unpossible to fly from LAX to Elko Nevada, as there was no airport in AM in Elko.  However, with the help of admins (Air Elbonia comes to mind) Mai Tai Air was able to get Elko Nevada added to AM's airport list.   Similarly you must be willing to not limit yourself to the preceived limitations of Airline Mogul.

Airlines cannot be merged in AM. You will not receive any money for it.
The only thing you can do is selling your aircrafts for the lowest price and if you have gates at airports were are no gates left for others you may release them to a specific person if you plan it on time.

yeah, i'm not looking for any money - i'm thinking maybe a player who has a small airline can shut it down, and take over my airline.  Of course i know i will have to get approval before any such swaps are executed.  But after I get an offer that I deem acceptable, I will pm the involved parties to see if we can make the deal happen.   Basically I am looking to get out of Airline Mogul and don't want to sell off my airline or just disperse my energy.  Rather, I would like to help someone take over my business.

Hello All -  Mai Tai Air is currently worth 6.8 Billion, has a DOP of 12million with a 73% LF and unrestricted Cash of 727 million Euro.   And this amount of unrestricted cash is growing every game day.   Mai Tai Air operates a fleet of 1 BAC 111-400, 1 BAC111-500, 1 Boeing 707-120B, 16 Boeing 707-320B, 5 Boeing 727-100, 1 Boeing 747-200, 10 Convair 880 Model 22-M, 1 HS-748 Srs 2, 17 HS-748-Srs 2A, 8 HS121 Trident 1c, 1 Lockheed L1011-1, 24 Tupolev Tu-104V.

Mai Tai Air has a huge upside potential.  By readjusting route structure to 100%LF, DOP could easily rise up to 14 million.

Additionally, Mai Tai Air currently has several planes grounded. They are:
1 Boeing 707-120B
11 Boeing 707-320B
10 Convair 880 Model 22-M
5 HS121 Trident 1C
7 Tupolev Tu-104V

that's a total of 34 grounded planes.  If each plane were utilized to make an average DOP of 300k, that would be a net increase of 10 million on DOP.  So with proper reconfiguring Mai Tai Air could easily be looking at 25million DOP instantly.  Not to mention what you will do to grow the company.

Additionally, Mai Tai Air operates flights out of Lucrative Airports such as MSP, LHR, CDG, LAX, ATL

Mai Tai Air flies to North America, Europe, Africa, South America and Asia.

As CEO you will be in charge of all aspects of Mai Tai Air from Route selection, to fleet organization, to price strategy.   Or as the acquiring partner in a merger you will assume all assets of Mai Tai Air.

Please, make an offer - Mai Tai Air will decide which offer to select and will notify the winner via PM.

And, actually what i hear the $40~ fuel surcharge sticking is a rarity.  "a few routes", is hardly sticking. "a few routes" can [in reality] charge a fare of over $1,000. this doesn't mean that "fares are rising", nor that high ticket costs are sticking.

Unfortunately, it's sticking a little more and more now...and the deals that come through my inbox every Monday night/Tuesday morning are becoming rarer.  i don't think my travelocity alerts have sent me anything for nearly a year now...i guess it's time to reset what is a "cheap" price.
:(  unfortunately?  when fuel prices go up - ultimately that cost should be passed to the customer.  Most airlines have a problem passing 40% of the fuel increase to customers.

the airline industry in the real world tends to have a real pack attitude towards pricing... it is nice to see it mimicked in game [though i admit the dynamics of 1 euro differences needs a little work still. along with one or two other tiny quirks].

I was reading an article earlier today about the fuel surcharge in the States.  airlines keep trying to jack it up but every time have failed and it's dropped back to its old levels.  when one ups it, all the other majors follow... when one backs off the rest back off again.  always interests me how the game mimics this behavior on routes [as there's few to no fun "hidden/passenger fees" to play with 'ere].

Air Elbonia, it is so hard to get a price increase to stick for carriers IRL.  for a price increase to stick, everyone has to agree to it within a reasonable time - whereas only one person has to lower prices for everyone to lower them.  I've seen examples (like these fuel charge thing) where people like AA start a 20$ fuel surcharge, DL, NW, UA match on the overnight price transmission but CO sits out.  Sometime the next day DL, NW, UA all pull back to a 10$ surcharge and CO comes in with the 20 surchage but it's too late. they missed their chance.  Crazy Stuff.

As I have told Stephen several days ago, we don't "need" to lock those threads. What we need is Stephen to say we don't need to stop anything until it has escalated to a point where unacceptable behaviors occur. If Stephen is willing to say that, I can guarantee all mods will stop working. It is a matter of conscious and consensus.

By conscious, I mean whether we, as mods, should let things escalate, knowing full well it is going to turn ugly; whether that is what we want; and whether that is something we can stand. By consensus, I mean whether this is the will of this community to have a mod free environment; and whether this is agree upon by the admin team, esp. the site owner, Stephen. If the consensus part is fulfilled, the worst we as mods would do is resign if we can't stand that and have to stand by our values.

The question in debate here is whether you all want the forum to run loose without any enforcement of rules or any restrains at all. If that is what you all choose, I will personally convince Stephen that all mods will go on holiday without providing any support or enforcement of rules, of any sort until further notice. You could then all f-ing swear the heck off in every single post and to the face of every single user in this community without any censor, if that is what you all want. Personally, do I care? If not for some sort of obligation to Stephen, the other admins, and the game, I would had been gone months ago. So, please let us know if you guys don't want us mods doing anything because you would be doing us a huge favor.

dktc is very disappointed and annoyed with the behavior of some members of this community, who not only not appreciate what is available to them for free, but are constantly stepping on boundaries; whining, complaining, and threatening to quit. dktc is also totally fed up with spending time here providing service that he has no obligation to provide, but because of which he and his fellow colleagues are being criticized about.

right - i think we need to seperate the forums from the game.  the game is great - now on to the forum.  Obviously - with the "official subforums" i.e. places you say, hey i've got a suggestion or places where stephen provides game updates - those places should be moderated and kept free of clutter.  However, why we even have mods on the general chat is a great question.  Ultimately i see no need for moderation on the general chat, and if moderation continues - someone should just start a third party forum for people who play AM and want to discuss it.  Does it bother me if I see the word carrot ?  no.  Do long threads bother me. no.  do people whining and moaning bother me. no.  i mean - to me i see absolutely no down side to whining moaning carrying on - because it doesn't affect me, if i don't want to read it, then i won't.  So yes this is a long post of saying that i think moderation on the boards is unnecessary and there's no real need for them (outside of maybe the official subforums).  But as is often pointed out - this is stephens board so he can do what he wants.    And he should realize that sooner or later people will continue to play his game and go to a non-official board to talk about the game.

Well, I call myself lazy because I can't be bothered to update the exact same routes at least three times before the clock hits 12pm and another five times before the day is over.  It's a small minority of routes that get affected and I'm sorry, it grows old.

I've tried "softresetting" those routes by charging equal, not €1 under for some time but the other parties deemed it necessary to get 100%LF all the time.  I have as much right to maintain 100% LF as my competitor and am already charitable by not resetting any routes above 70%.

why don't you close the routes?  :?:

If I'm not wrong it was a cargo configured IL-76 that evacuated refugees or something? And it had pax sitting on the floor when the rear door broke loose and the pax was sucked/fell out.
I know there are several more 100+ pax crashes involving IL-76, and even one with 200+ pax. But to my knowledge they were all cargo planes flying pax.
and airlines in the game are flying this thing?  seriously, why would any pax pay to go on that POS.
