DC-8, it's a jet ;) But of the first jets I would choose the Tupolev 104 and the Boeing 707

Perhaps the market nowadays does not offer enough demands for those aircraft sizes, or else Boeing and Airbus are both losing out on a big opportunity.

I think there is demand, just look how airlines are still using the 757 to cross the Atlantic, and look how much the A321neo is selling. As far as I understand, there is a market, not as big as the 320-size market, but still a big market
