2910.

Thats not hard at all. Hard is when you hit the runway and bounce back into the air 3 times.

Today I spent 1 hour doing landing exercises all on my own! ;)

The wind can blow from 360 different degrees. Only two of those can give you a straight headwind or tailwind. So yes, crosswind is pretty normal. Today I flew solo landing circuits from runway 29. The wind was 300 degrees and 9 knots, so only 7 degrees off the runway centerline. Even so, you can certainly feel the crosswind component.

Not really crosswind, but I'll just put this here.

@VS
Well, in such a small aircraft you're flying, even the slightest breeze knocks it over :lol:

@norge:
You can't tell, it's too fuzzy :P

My homework for next week: Buy and install Flight Simulator X and play it. Not bad for homework, eh?

Piper Cadets. ;)

Today I managed to get tower angry. Long story, but I ended up waiting 10 minutes at the stop-line before runway 29 while he took good time to get 5 planes down with plenty of spacing inbetween. :lol:

Rules state that when you fly IFR you must speak english. When flying IFR, you don't look outside, so you can't spot other planes. Therefore it is vital for safety that everybody can understand what the other planes in the vicinity are ordered to do.
Sometimes IFR training is performed as a VFR flight, only the student wears foggles and the instructor looks outside as during a normal VFR flight. Yesterday we decided to file it as an IFR flightplan, but I wasn't aware of the english requirement :lol: I got to do an ILS approach though, which was really cool 8)
