It is the biggest airshow in Asia, or so they say. It seems to be quite a big affair for the aviation world, too.

The airshow features aircraft made by big brands, and I think they have Learjets, Bombardiers, and Embraers there. The F-35 seems to be one main feature too, and there are flying displays by F-15's and F-16's.

Just a fun piece of trivial knowledge: Singapore could not have displayed small, local aircraft even if they tried. Singapore is so small that it has no regional airline, and domestic flights are impossible. Also, Changi Airport is so internationally important, I don't think I have ever seen props here, and the smallest aircraft commercially may be the A320 and 737. I did hear, though, that the C919 would have been showcased here if it were internationally certified.

Nah just kidding, just 4142...

Air Shows are fantastic, I used to work the Farnborough and Paris (Le Bourget) air shows when I was younger: so fascinating.
I was there that year in 1999 helping to set up the Paris Show, when the Su-30MKI fighter crashed during a training flight. The flight crew ejected, and survived.

Its magic to see these aircraft, ranging from the classics to the latest prototypes. I should try and go back there sometime.
Hopefully you'll be able to make it to the Singapore Air Show next time around!

To reply to Matias' earlier question : no haven't flown the Dreamliner yet, but it's at the top of my list. The A350 felt smooth, the inside cabin was top-notch. But some people (not any of us!!) might say that when you're in a plane, you're in a plane...

It is an airport simulation game where you manage and build an airport. The game is actually quite cute (too me :P), with all those little pixelated people moving around independently, and the aircraft are quite realistically modeled. The game is also quite comprehensive, covering quite a majority of airport operations, and realistically too. It is a bit slow on my computer though. It is payware, though I managed to get it for free, and just started playing it.

I used to play X-plane, but I flew mostly in FSX. Now I do neither :lol:

I played for what must amount to several full months of my life the Microsoft Flight Simulator series (from 3rd version in 1988, up to the last).
I had one version tweaked and tuned with real world airlines, ATC, major airports, and even repainted an entire fleet of aircraft to the colors of an airline I had created.
One day my computer crashed, and I lost it all... since then I have never really had the heart to set it all back up as it was.

But I miss it! I should give it a spin one of these days.

I miss it, but it feels old now. I wish there was a good simulator out there with up to date graphics and realism and easy to mod :P
