If you're short on time perhaps you could play as a small flag carrier airline, such as Croatia Airlines, Cubana de Aviacion, Royal Air Maroc, etc... ?

Anyways, good luck with your studies Nosy!

Join the world I am playing in now - if you ask I can tell you which bases are free
World 3270 - New Beginnings

For example Croatian Airlines that can be expanded to Balkan Airlines when you get more time :)

Thanks, Thunderstruck.

How much time does World 3270 - New Beginnings have left?

PW3270 is in 1972 right now, I think it goes all the way to 2017 or so

I'm playing in that world too - come on in :)

There are currently 23 active airlines, would be nice to have you there, even if you an only play once in a while...

Singapore is occupied with 300 routes right now. Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok each have only 100 routes.

Thunderstruck, which airline is yours?

I'm playing as Southern Orient, headquartered in Asia (HKG).

There were 3 major airlines based in Asia until recently, but one of them just went bankrupt.

Where would you advise me to base an airline now?

One of the following airports (red=free, navy=small airline based, blue=slightly larger airline based)

Asia is quite full, two huge airlines snatching all the good airports. USA has good competition among many airlines and so has Europe. South America is not too bad, but the airports there are smaller. Africa is free.

"This is you" >> yup the airline has expanded quite a bit over the years. Actually my airline is in an alliance with you (Viking Airlines).

I've played in some worlds where there were few Asian airlines, but for some reason in this world Asia is quite busy, and I find that nice.
And NOSY even if it's fairly charged, there is always space for another Asian airline if that is where you want to be :)

Africa is always empty. I previously did play there, it was very challenging but mostly it was lonely. I wish Airline Mogul could re-balance Africa somehow, because it remains generally ignored by players.

My airline will slowly develop routes from our CDG hub to African destinations in the next 5 to 10 years.

Take care fellows!

The Ilyushin 62 is especially well suited for routes to Africa. It's not too big and it can fly very far. The Vickers VC10 would be my second choice.

Yes, for long-distance, medium capacity flights the Il-62 is perfect at this time of the game (early 70's) - it is also quite a slick & beautiful plane too.

Surprisingly, the aircraft I have made the most profits with for flights between Europe and Africa is the Concorde. Distances are far, and passenger numbers are very low, yet with the Concorde's speed and range, I can fly from Paris to Mali, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Ghana, etc etc, and make profits of over 500,000 € per aircraft!

This allows me to connect Africa with the world, and not let it remain an entirely deserted continent.
