Where you have found the blank plane?

the Falcon and Caravelle are off a french site and the DC-8-61 is from a russian blue-print site. the DC-8-50 i made by removing the sections of fuselage that were added when Douglas stretched the DC-8 and i made the CV880 from scratch based on a very accurate drawing. :)

and also, google image search is your friend ;)

General Chat / *What* do you Name Your Planes?
« on: February 29, 2008, 07:06:21 am »
mine all receive reg. #s based on aircraft type and which devision it is in. my long-haul fleet also gets names based on classic rock songs, but no names for the domestic and regional fleets

N###FB = mainline
N###FC = cargo (when ever that starts being active in the game)
N###FS = shuttle

example from my 1970's fleet:

N863FB Douglas DC-8-61 "Kashmir"

i like classic rock if you cant tell ;)

I hope you are comparing the Russian pre-glass cockpits with "Western" pre-glass cockpits? Because I'm sure flying a Trident would equally be as difficult as flying a TU-134.

And I am a fan of Russian craft too, they have character along with the more 1960s/70s British aircraft.

not to mention that you never get hot in the cockpit because there is ALWAYS one fan each for the pilot, co-pilot, navigator, radio operator and any other cockpit crew :D

gotta love russian planes, they do have a hell of alot of character....

the ones I find on the web (and believe me I've looked all over!) are almost always inaccurate in one way or another.

no kidding....i have yet to find a decent one of Caravelle model....then there are also all those little variations between sub-versions of each model and such......im just not great doing everything from scratch, lol.....liveries and paint jobs, im fine, but if i dont have the print to work off, im screwed, haha

Modern day planes aren't all made by machine! They are designed on computers, by people who put all their soul into making the planes!

thats the thing, they are all designed and calculated out by computers, but penned out on paper, or a napkin while on lunch break.....there is no soul in the design any more, just technology....and for me, even being the tech geek that i am, that is not a good thing...
