So what airline liveries do you really like and which ones do you really hate.

Favorites
1 - Iberia - I don't know what it is about Iberia's livery, but I really like it.
2 - United Airlines - There new livery is a huge improvement over there last one and I really like it.
3 - Jet Airways
4 - Qatar Airways
5 - Thai Airways International
6 - Air Canada - It is pretty simple aside from the tail, but simple is good in this case.
7 - China Airlines
8 - Etihad Airways
9 - BMI British Midland
10 - Cathay Pacific Airways

Least Favorites
1 - Air France - Really boring!
2 - American Airlines - Needs to change it up.
3 - Hapagfly/Thomsonfly (Britannia Airways)/TUIfly/All of those airlines that use that stupid defaultish livery.
4 - Spirit Airlines - What the heck!  The old silver square one was amazing.  One of the best of all time.  What the heck is this new crazy color one!  Did we travel back in time to the 1970s?
5 - Malaysia Airlines - Boring!

That is about it right now. ;D :D

Like:
-Air Canada: they've done an excellent job reorganizing during bankruptcy. Really. Their new corporate image (those "You and I" commercials, engaging CĂ©line Dion, etc.) and their new product are both very nice. Actually look forward to flying with them sometime.
-Delta (new): they're another one of VERY FEW success stories with reorganization. Their new corporate image ("Welcome Change") and new product are both also great. I'd fly with them but they're not a star alliance member.
-Singapore Airlines: That livery's been around forever. Very nice. Recognizable brand.
-jetBlue: I always liked the funky tails. Don't know why.
-Virgin Atlantic (newest iteration): Again, it's simple, modern, fits in with their brand image. You'd recognize a Virgin Atlantic plane anywhere.
-Asiana (new): I like it, but I wish they had kept the old logo. The new carat logo is kind of, um, an acquired taste. And the crew need new uniforms!
-Air New Zealand: Also a simple, recognizable brand image.
-SWISS: It's simple, recognizable. What I don't like though is that it's pretty similar to the old Swissair livery.
-Air Tahiti Nui: Their livery SCREAMS Polynesia. Plus it looks very nice in good weather.

Dislike:
-United (new): What's with the white? They've turned a classic brand into a modern, uglified version of its former self.
-NWA: The needle on the compass doesn't even point northwest anymore.
-Air France: Whoever designed that seemed to have been lazy.
-SAS: See Air France.
-Korean Air: Their livery needs an update. Totally inconstent with the product and cabin crew uniform changes. They need to go in the same direction Asiana went with the livery.

Air Canada, LLC (Private W224)

American Airlines planes look like they have been stripped of paint, then had the Dutch flag rapped around them, upside down.

American Airlines planes look like they have been stripped of paint,

Less paint reduces the aircraft's weight, thus saves on fuel costs.

..and looks stupid on modern planes. Half the airframe on them is composite so they just paint the non-aluminium bits grey. Looks stupid. I'm sure the AA livery was great on planes like 707 or 747-100/200/SP.

I agree.  I think they need to change it up a bit.  It just doesn't look as good on the new planes as it did on the older planes.  Sure it saves money, but come on it needs a change.

I doubt a few airlines will though, especially US based airlines. With oil and gas prices at high and here in the States, they're even starting to charge passengers FOR their first checked baggage!  >:(

And a few weeks ago, a Canadian carrier decided to take their lifevests off to make the plane lighter.

The airline industry is losing money, and (you know what) makes airlines stay in business. They're developing all kinds of cost cutting measures. It makes you wonder if you'll soon have to pay for a seatbelt!  :P

So I doubt if any US based airline including AA might update their livery in while. Although the least they could do is follow what airlines such as Air Canada, Philippines or Garuda have done with their liveries.

Nice and simple white body scheme.
