About registrations...in W10 will we start off with a registered plane? :?

The planes you get for free when creating an airline are not yet registered, because they are created before you select your base country. They can, however be registered later using a button on the aircraft info page.

I am wondering if there is a way we can turn off this reg system.

It may be possible to turn off, is that on all pages?

I'd like it off at least on the aircraft list. Only reason being that there is already a lot of information there so all lines get wrapped. Makes the listing very difficult to read (for me, that is).

I'd like to have something like...
Code: [Select]
Lockheed 749 Constellation        On Order (42)
... instead of...
Code: [Select]
 Lockheed           On
     749            Order
Constellation        (42)

Maybe if, instead of a fixed width table, it could span all the screen this wouldn't be so bad. Right now I have (1280px wide monitor) a lot of empty space on the right hand side and then the list is all squeezed.

Nothing like private worlds, private worlds are being worked on, thats not a secret..

This is something that will take the game a step closer to the real world, just like having aircraft registrations did.
The game will be more realistic and a little harder, slower.  8)

It's order books, I bet. I think that's good, overall, as long aircraft from each manufacturer will be delivered to airlines in a spiral pattern (that is, every airline that ordered a/c's will get their first one before anyone gets their second.), rather than in the order they were ordered in. If the latter were the case, the richest airlines could hog all the orders and it would take the little guys an unfair length of time to get theirs.

How about mass registration?

Every aircraft that is ordered will automatically be registered from now on, so there won't be any need for it in future worlds. There is also a check box for registration when you buy one from someone else. I've done both already and it worked fine.

I'd like to request that the feature be modified to allow users to select their own registrations. Otherwise, it's no different than (and just as useless as) the aircraft ID.

The point of a reg number system should be to organize (and semi-realistically) define an airline's fleet, in the case of US airlines, using the airline's preferred suffixes (AA, AN, US, UW, PS, UA, etc.) If it's just a sequentially-assigned letter-number group, it's meaningless to the aircraft owner, and will result in the person having a fleet full of randomly-registered aircraft whose reg numbers bear no relationship whatsoever to any logical rhyme or reason.

As it is, I'll simply ignore the AM-assigned registration number and continue to create my own, using the aircraft name tool.

If you think Aircraft Ids are useless, then AM couldn't function...

Useless *to the player.*

Of course the ID is important internally - but to a player, the ID has no useful relationship to anything meaningful. It's an automatically assigned sequential series of numbers.

Reg numbers would be useful if a player was allowed to select their own - enabling them to keep track of their fleet by assigning different types of aircraft to different logical reg number groupings, as the real airlines do.

As it stands, the reg number system is just another automatically assigned sequential series of numbers and letters, with no more usefulness to the player than the ID number.
