Im really hopping that the US government will do something to help our US airlines. about 60,000 jobs are being cut from are major US airlines. With the ever increasing plane fuel, they are in deep trouble. America can't live without air travel. The US needs to do something to save our airlines before its to late. And I sure do hope our new president will see this and do something.

And quite frankly, Obama's just going to put 50% Capital gains tax on them...
That'll be a great help

It's been several years ago that some scientists suddenly discovered that oil and gas wont last forever.   Instead of doing something to push a/c manufacturers researching for alternative fuel they ordered aircrafts in masses and forced low cost operations. People used the freedom to travel everywhere they could use the aircraft. Now that exploring new sources is very consuming in the financial way and everybody is addicted to oil/gas some people thought "Hey, they need it. They gonna pay for it!"

I am sorry - but the current way is leading to a dead end. As long as there is nothing "nature-neutral" mankind will always face an end of ressources and prices will be raised. Although it hurts my banking account I am with those people trying to raise the prices for everything not needed to survive - such as aircraft fuel. But the man will possibly never learn this lesson until the oil reserves have disappeared. Oh, yeah, and nuclear power plants will help a lot to keep our environment free of pollution. You may ask the three-eyed fish.

It is strange though that the country with the highest energy consumption per person has such low prices for it.   But this will change - regardless if the next president is McCain or Obama. The big military fleets of your country will get more and more expensive resulting in higher taxes. Just wait a bit and see what happens.

Just my two cents.

Governments don't do much right by themselves.

I would also expect wait times to go up.

This is why I'm moving to Europe. High taxes don't bother me, as long as I still get something out of them

Why would public health systems be bad just because it is run by the government? The entire Europe does perfectly with a public health system. Private hospitals still excist in the oh-so socialist Europe, for those who are naive enough. And what would you do if you had no money, and got injured or sick?

It's the reason why Communist governments ultimately fail-
The government is inefficient and wasteful with money...
http://www.heritage.org/research/budget/bg1840.cfm -- Don't read the whole thing, just look at the list of ten...
Or look at this -- http://www.fee.org/Publications/the-Freeman/article.asp?aid=3782

Quite frankly, I think individuals can spend money on what they want better then the government can.
And you want to help the poor get money?
Welfare's the wrong way to go...
The only real "welfare" you can give is to give people a job.
Where do the majority of jobs come from? Large Businesses, whether you like them or not.
I have no degree in Economics, but I'm certain that taxing businesses 50% won't help make more jobs.

As much of a Republican I may be, I'm also fairly certain that we can at the very least not put more troops in Iraq....
We don't need to withdraw completely at this stage, but I think we can at least start...

EDIT: It appears from the post that I support eliminating welfare completely, which is something I do not.

I've never been called Lord Vlode
Heck, I think I'm I stick around here any longer, people are going to hate me...

Anyways, note that while the government (in Canada) pays for the health care, they pay people to do it. (not gov't run)
There is, in my opinion, a huge difference there.
Also, a chunk of our Health Care programs (Medicare, etc...) goes to people who can pay for it.
I think we can rectify that, hasten the end of the war, and then increase funding from there.
I'm still not going for a complete government funding of health care, buy extensions of stuff like SCHIP and Medicare.
