History is irrevocably intertwined with politics.  If we do not learn where we came from, we ar destined to make the same mistakes again.

As much as citizens of other nations do not want to admit it, the US election cycle has a large effect on them.

I admit it has a large effect on us, and I really can't see why anyone would say it didn't. I'm just not sure I like all aspects of it, that's all.
I think the US should focus on their internal problems before going out to act world police.

Besides, Al Qaeda are amateurs compared to yourself when it comes to killing Americans:

400.000 Americans are killed each year from tobacco
40.000 Americans are killed in traffic every year
30.000 Americans are killed by guns

So maybe it's time for a war on the tobacco industry, car industry, and god forbid, the gun industry

BUT, the US military are doing a great job in many locations of the world, I just wish they would let the UN govern what gets done where and how.
OK, it's not perfect, spending a year in Yugoslavia 94-95 made that very clear to me, but it's better than a gun crazy world sheriff.

The US military budget is 590 BILLION dollars, that is $2000 per american...
