how come airlines in Europe can earn so much more profit than those on, say, Africa? I'm hearing about all these Martin 4-0-4's and the like getting 500K a day. I'm based in Jo'burg - why can't I even get close to it? Is it because of demand or something?

Just some background info:

Aircraft ID Aircraft Name Aircraft Type Hours Age Status Book Value Daily Profit
19578  Page HP.81 Hermes 1 0 Leased In €27,158,710 €187,433 Info

And that isn't even one of the mega-airports. LHR-CDG is at 30€- however, it started at 1500€. Competition is really huge, but so is the income (if you've got time to edit the routes)

that route is more about denial of profit for the competition, so put a plane there on low cost so noone can make big bucks

See, that's why I based out of a smaller city, I don't have to deal with the bigger and more agressive players as often as much as the guys in the larger cities.

It's a long game.  No, you'll never be #1 in money overall.  But you can try and climb as close as possible.  Or be #1 in passengers carried.

My DOP is encroaching the 4 million Euros mark, and I am starting to replace DC3s with Martin4-0-4s.  I am now among the top 100 airlines in North America.  My goal is to rank among the top 20.  I started this game way back at 300-something.  My value has soared to over 400 million Euros now...

Now that I am recieving M 4-0-4s, I can replace the ИЛ-12 on the more lucrative routes. I also bought 2 M 4-0-4s earlier, now my DOP is up to 720K and I'm startin to shoot up in the rankings. Those M 4-0-4s were just what the ATR or ATP was to me last round, a good, solid machine with great operating stats. I think a few more of these things into my network and I can finally afford a L1049 to start Iran flights!

Anyone considering the M 4-0-4 for the 100-1000nm ranged flights should definetly buy them. Best machine I've had so far this round. I think by the end of the "year", I can hit 2 mil DOP and be at 600th place.
