This is not AE.  Capacity dumping doesn't work because it's so bloody cheap to fly these planes.  In fact, dumping results in a drop of loadfactor from 100% to 30% on part of the dumper if someone's Bellanca SuperduperAircruiser charges €0.1 less!

Thank you for reading my rant.

hey, i'm pretty new to AM - i'm guessing AE is another airline sim game.   And i guess your point is that you can't force someone out of a market by throwing capacity at them and undercutting the fare because the costs are so minimal that you only lose a tiny amount of money for flying empty.

so my question is this.... HOW does one get another airline out of a route ?

An extreme example would be run a short route (JFK-EWR) with a B744 for say... 20 freq a day.

I plonked 2000 seats on FCO-CDG back in the days to get people out...

Tried chucking 1000 seats in AM...doesn't work at all because:
1. The low cost of flying.
2. The €0.1 undercut feature which makes you go in the red more often than anyone else.

Abolished.

The 2x 0.5 limit remains though.
