Since it looks like this is going to be a very close race, I would suggest a compromise which would be in the mid 1950s, (1954,1955,1956,1957) which would give access to some of the early jets later in the round.

Don't know, I think 1950 is more of a challenge. The planes are unknown, the range is shorter so we get a whole different game, it would be totally different from anything this game has ever seen.

As long as terminals get slightly more expensive, I don't mind that. They are dirt cheap now.

we will need more, so, it would be more expensive than the old round, I got a thing about the base limit, can´t we finish early if routes are shorter?, I mean, to fill the max no. of bases and their max no. of destinations available by reach before the new era end?... just a thought, maybe I am underestimating these old but reliable planes and their reach

I think there is a massive underestimating of the old airplanes. There are planes in-game from the start of the round that give you 4500nm+ range, IIRC, which could already get you a transatlantic route. And you should see the challenge involved. It will mean you're gonna have to play a whole different game in order to remain successful until the end of the round.

I don´t care about the depression, the background is the same than the old round... same passengers

I´d like to see this game reflecting the post 2008 USA depression, the second asian tiger depression, the outbreak of bird flu, WWIII and WWIV, central america invasion of north america and the fall of planet X, let´s hope that the game will stand by then

anyway, I don´t care about the depression, my guess it that it didn´t affect creating new planes, at least on paper and blueprints

it will be a fun game indeed

It probably did. Mostly, the biggest improvements come in times when the economy is doing well, mostly because there's actually money to research things.

I think that it affected production, not design or proyects, I will do a research on the airplane industry and that era
