Umm... that could be a british highway. Or the A530, should it exist.

As far as I know, many countries use the Axx designation for main roads/highways ;)

In Europe we use those E-xxx roads, right?

Yeah, but those are the border-crossing roads. Not all main roads have E-numbers.

Not all E-roads are border-crossing  :P

I may have been confused a bit. E-roads are the main roads here in Norway, at least.

That is because they are spurs or treated like national roads. A few countries have adopted E-numbers as national road systems - just like Norway ;)

Oh, and I think there are some roads in Norway called the Rv[insert number], but no one cares about those poor roads :P

Well, the smallest Danish roads with numbers have three numbers (e.g. 151), but they are not really important. The most important are the through-running E-roads :D

At least the Danish roads don't have holes in them :P

You think? Trust me, they have. Even highways! :/
How bad are Norwegian roads?

Last time I was in Denmark we didn't encounter too many holes. We drove from Hirtshals to Nyborg via the E45 and then we wen't to Holstebro via some road I don't remember. I think we could count the holes on one hand.

It depends a bit in Norway, because of the mountains and stuff. The roads are generally okay in the cities, but my father used to tell me each time we passed a hole in the road near the ferry dock that it had been there for over 30 years. They started to work on it this week :P

Some streets in inner Copenhagen have more holes than swiss cheese :/ And some highways haven't been re-paved since their construction. 50 years ago...
