Suggestions / Renting out gates
« on: July 29, 2014, 01:49:40 am »
So, this dawned on me.  You know how in real life a lot of airlines associated with the same alliance use the same terminals?  I was wondering if there was a way to make it possible to be able to lease out your own gates in your own terminal to airlines?  If building a terminal is technically creating extra gates, this would be a good source of extra revenue for airlines, and a way to allow alliances to work together more.

Suggestions / Baggage Fees
« on: May 07, 2014, 06:49:02 am »
Since we have fees for meals and beverages, maybe we should add baggage fees to the mix?  Maybe allow for 1 or 2 baggage fees for a 1st and 2nd checked bag?  Or maybe just leave the option for a 1st checked bag.  I'm not sure about the option for a carry on fee but maybe that too.  That way we could keep up with the Jones'.

General Chat / Question About 0.5 Frequencies
« on: December 25, 2009, 07:04:49 pm »
Okay, so I see all the time when creating routes that you can do 0.5 frequencies.  I don't understand the concept of them.  I read that it is a one way frequency, so realistically, the plane leaves the Hub airport to the destination and doesn't return?

OR:
The plane can't operate a full round trip to this destination in one game day, so the return trip is the following game day, kind of like the plane remains at the destination airport overnight and returns to the hub airport the next day?

I've been in and out of Airline Mogul for over a year and I still don't understand the concept of the 0.5 frequencies.  Would someone please explain this to me?

Bugs / Alliance Was Deleted
« on: December 13, 2009, 01:38:21 pm »
So I first petitioned to join an alliance and then I withdrew my petition.  I then created my own alliance.  I got a message in the game saying my alliance petition failed.  My own alliance that I created was also deleted.  Can anyone explain that?  I know I don't have to petition to join my own alliance that I created.

If you petition to join Worldwide, please make sure you have unique hubs.  If you have the exact same hubs as other airlines in here, chances are you will not be accepted.

Alliance Routes:
The point of running your own airline is to make sure you are profitable, and that is perfectly fine.  We allow a maximum of 25 alliance routes, and feel free to create them as you please.  Try to keep the competition professional.  For the sake of your own airline, you may want to take into consideration the fact that it will be hard to make money on a route that has many competitors.  Be unique and grow!  I want everyone to be successful.  The point of this alliance is to create a strong partnership and work together on building a great environment for air travel!

On another note, I want to welcome new members to Worldwide!  I wish everyone the best and I hope to keep the communication lines open.

Airline Reports / America World Airlines Ceases Operations [PW978]
« on: November 27, 2009, 05:19:18 pm »
New York-JFK Based America World Airlines
CEO: Evan Kisseloff

Main Hub:
New York-John F. Kennedy International Airport (New York City (Jamaica), NY) [KJFK]

Other Hubs:
Raleigh/Durham International Airport (Raleigh/Durham, NC) [KRDU]
Chicago-Midway Airport (Chicago, IL) [KMDW]
Denver International Airport (Denver, CO) [KDEN]
Dallas Love Field Airport (Dallas, TX) [KDAL]
Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport (Paris, FR) [LFPG/CDG]
Ben Gurion Airport (Tel Aviv, Israel) [TLV/LLBG]

America World Airlines began operating in the early 1970s with a fleet of 2 Boeing 737-200s with its first flight from New York-Kennedy Airport to Daytona Beach, FL.  We quickly expanded to include nonstop flights from New York to Chicago-Midway along with New York to Raleigh/Durham, which soon became major hubs for America World Airlines.

America World Airlines joined the Global Skyways Alliance, which quickly helped to expand our product to many new locations.  As a result of our Alliance Membership, America World Airlines began to build up a presence in Denver by launching daily service between our Chicago hub and the mile high city.  America World Airlines quickly added flights from Denver to other cities in the Western Half of the United States.  After seeing progress, Denver became our fourth hub.

Soon after, America World Airlines (AMW) decided to take its chances overseas, and we acquired our first Boeing 737 Business Jet, which would launch our all business class service between New York and London-Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom.  During that time, AMW built up a hub in London and started flying to other European destinations such as Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Rome, and Barcelona.  After a re-evaluation of the European market, AMW decided to close its hub at London-Heathrow, therefore temporarily pulling out of all European Markets.

Recently, AMW decided to take a new approach to their European presence and decided to start new nonstop service between New York and Paris.  AMW established its current hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, bringing a strong Global Skyways presence to the city.  After upgrading Paris to hub status, AMW reinstated much of its service to the European Cities that previously lost service after the pull back at London-Heathrow, though AMW still maintains daily service to London through both Heathrow and Gatwick Airports from Paris.

Currently, AMW maintains a strong presence in Florida, with daily service to Jacksonville, Pensacola, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Melbourne, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Key West, Sarasota, and Tampa.  Out of these Florida cities, AMW maintains a large presence in Daytona Beach, with nonstop service to its hubs in New York, Raleigh/Durham, Chicago, and Denver making it Daytona Beach's number one carrier in terms of available seats, number of flights, and number of nonstop destinations.

In addition to its large hub at Kennedy Airport in New York City, AMW also provides daily service to LaGuardia and Newark, the other two major New York City Airports, as well as Buffalo and new service to Islip, NY.  AMW provides daily flights from LaGuardia, Newark, Buffalo, and Islip to both Chicago and Raleigh/Durham.

This thread will bring you up to date with Press Releases from America World Airlines.

General Chat / Is My Airline In Trouble?
« on: April 26, 2008, 05:08:59 pm »
All but one of the aircraft in my fleet are on lease.  Will this send my airline to cease ops?  Or is it okay to do this?
