Because we're not sitting in them and there's no visuals yet. Right now everyone wants range, pax and money.

"Respect the classics, man..." -Filmore (from Cars)

so what if theres no visuals? as you said, range pac and money, so do just that....with the planes of the past.

i swear i was born in the wrong time period..... :(

i have one question.....why does everyone hate the great classic prop and jetliners? :? they are the most beautiful planes ever built......modern planes have no soul, they are all computer designed and operated.....

General Chat / A Distance Calulator Would Be Nice
« on: November 08, 2007, 02:10:52 am »
this makes me feel really aerogeeky, but i would put it into the FMS or GPS of what ever plane i had running in x-plane (depending on what was on the panel)......

so is there no action planned for correcting this rather large error in the Comet's performance? being off by 100mph is quite significant.....

max speed is 490

Game Data / [FIXED] OXD airport data
« on: October 24, 2007, 10:44:24 pm »
have a correction for the passenger data at KOXD (OXD)...when i originally submitted it i accidentaly added an extra zero which made it 1000, after talking with my bosses we have calculated that we get about 250 passengers annually (nearly all charters)...so if possible, could this be changed? also, i know this is probly not implimented in the calculations, but we have a wingspan limit of 77 feet (our rwy is 4011x70 and a hanger right next to the taxiway makes aanything over the limit unable to taxi past...)....

side note: this is the REAL Miami, not the wanna-be in florida :P Miami University, founded in 1809, 80 some years before florida was even a state and over a hundred before UM (coral-gables)

Bugs / cannot buy plane

when i try to buy a DC-6B it gives me this message:

Sorry, but the page seems to have lost your aircraft query, please try again!

i'd really like to be able to buy my plane, but i guess something keeps stealing my order request form out of the mail

ID#3858

General Chat / What Aircraft do you prefer to buy? (Green Poll)
« on: October 16, 2007, 08:24:12 pm »
im very happy with the 4-0-4 so far, my network doesnt require the range that the 2-0-2 or CV240 have, so the higher cruise speed is a big plus....the Martins are very nice planes....possibly i will replace my DC-3....

i will be looking into longer range acf soon though to start making the jump across the pond....

with the smaller capacity acf, i am very happy with my DH.104s, they work great on short-mid range routes involving low-demand destinations....and they are decently quick and cheap...not to mention how cool looking they are

Game Updates / Aircraft Info

on the registration, will it be country specific like in reality?
for example:
US: N###xx
UK: G-xxxx
D: D-xxxx
MX: XA-xxx

and will there be any ability to customize it to your airline? like with the US N#'s how the two letters at the end are often specific to the airline (like how Delta has DA/DL/DN, etc...)

ive had loaded biz jets come in , literally spending no more than 5 minutes parked unloading baggage and pax. and then depart.....if they need fuel, add about 15 minutes to it....

airliners though, i cant say as i dont work with them....

I don't think a DC-3 ever held 32 people.  A C-47 might have in military configuration.

ya, and most of the time when it did, they exited the plane mid-flight....i doubt our pax. want to do that

----

and why is everyone hating on the prop-liners? have you never met one in person (static desplays and in museums dont count)? they are pure magic......yes, i love jets too, but man...we would be nowhere without the great radial engined airlines.....

radials were THE standard engine of the time period (50s-mid/early 60s)....jets were rare and something extreamly special to see, like how the JT8D's were THE standard powerplant of the 70s and 80s with the SSTs (Concorde and Tu-144) being the rare specialty.....

then again, i work at an airport and am in contact with piston powered planes constantly which gives me a great appriciation for props....
