Hmm. I see one sort of problem with this; it penalizes carriers with small home bases. For example, Ethiopian airlines is more likely to stay in business right now than Frontier, but in AM Frontier would have the larger value. Therefore I think that there should be some sort of better way of doing this. I'm thinking that maybe we could exclude Africa from this valuation limitation. Or, do a sort of value in relation to the combined size of the bases (ie if a carrier has bases in Atlanta and Tulsa, their airline would have 89+3=92 million combined size of base)

Then divide their value by the pax size of bases to determine a score. The airlines with the lowest scores would then be deleted.

Anyhow, I'd like to join as a US based carrier as well.

Plan to simulate United Airlines with the following hubs

ORD (base)
LAX
DEN
SFO
IAH
EWR
IAD
CLE
SEA

Bindu, Would you like to be part of the alliance that I am currently forming. lol

I plan to use the following bases (edited to work around yours)

ATL (base)
BOS
DFW
MSP
PDX
PHX
LAX
MCO
and just because I know no one hubs here usually, LAS

And then all we would need is a European airline and an Asian airline (Preferably two)

Also on the list as usefull but not necessary, a South American airline

Do you want to share LAX with me. We both can operate there, but if you really want it for yourself, I'll switch off LAX and SEA, and open a GUM hub for myself.

I think we can share LAX, it would be the one place where both airlines kinda set up shop and dominate ya know?

Hmmm, it looks like I would like to be a South American this time. No objections? Okay, I'm going to be out of Sao Paulo :)

I have decided to Hub out of London Heathrow, and my airline will probably be Royal Atlantic.

Bindu, that is a big problem. I definitely think that that formula (value divided by real world hub pax) is the best way to score each airline. I'll even do the math for it  :P
I've changed my mind. I'll join EastWest's alliance. It just seems like it would be better for me at this point. I've also come up with a new hub arrangement:
PEK
HND
HKG
SIN
BOM
DUB
SYD
I'm starting to like these cities that are their own country  ;)

I got some results for the formula. The test subjects are AsiaAir, Central American Airways, and Delte Airlines from Realistic 2.0.
AsiaAir
-Bases: PEK, HND, BKK
-Total real world base pax: 169,161,885
-Total value:4,225,925,456
-Total score: about 25

Central American Airways
-Bases: MEX, CUN
-Total real world base pax: 38,856,668
-Total value: 1,902,190,621
-Total score: about 49

Delte Airlines
-Bases: ATL, DFW, DTW, MSP, JFK, SLC
-Total real world base pax: 264,643,106
-Total value: 58,505,982,030
-Total score: about 221
Based on these tests, AsiaAir would be knocked out. Keep in mind that I didn't use the smallest airlines in the world but a wide diversity: a large Asian carrier, a smaller Central American carrier, and the supergiant. I think the formula needs to change or we just select the lowest airlines. It's a good solution to use the formula, but it has some really huge problems. Does anyone disagree? Bindu and 1993matias, I hope you don't mind me using your airlines to test this.

So who all is in the Alliance so far and where are they flying?

Eastwest-Europe
Mathias-South America
EastWest-North America
GoPats-Asia/Australia

Does anyone dare try Africa in this world?
