I may or may not join, depending on my mood when the world opens :P

At this point I am planning on having a couple hundred slots and no password, so you can join whenever you want.

I like the idea very much! I would like to suggest studying the possibility of code share agreement not only alliances. The difference would be that in a code share agreement you will not be able to start routes from other bases but you will benefit in two ways: passengers flying from or to your origin point. For example if carrier A flies from North America to Europe, then carrier B can take those passengers throughout its european/middle east/asian network. The revenues can be shared or there can be a fixed monthly fee.

Also, when joining an alliance, airlines shouldn´t be able to compete on existing routes. The idea is to open up new routes to new destinations.

That sounds great, but you realize that I am not an Airline Mogul Staff member and can't initiate anything like that?

That's the only drawback, but hey, how many airports are in the proximity of Salt Lake City? Or Buenos Aires?

Anyway, you get my point of not wanting a mainstream aircraft, right? :)

Yeah, I get it. Just remember China ;)
Why not use Tupolev or some Soviet manufacturer? I thought Boeing and Airbus were the mainstream AC, not MD.

Something no-one would use normally. Not even Tupolev and Ilyushin (maybe I'm too picky now?). Maybe just start with a few turboprops?

AirbusGuy350, do you want to partner with a australian airline?(me!)
I may or may not join, depending on my mood when the world opens :P

But may I suggest a non-mainstream aircraft - such as Dassault Mercure - so everybody doesn't fly around with Boeing, and only Boeing? That would make it a bit more realistic. This would also make the aircraft market a bit more varied. Try reducing the amount of aircraft a bit, so we don't get a running start, make it a bit harder ;)

Dassault Mercure:
Seats   150
Speed   499
Range   1,058
Fuel Usage   836
OMG the bristol PULLMAN has more range then that thing!

It can work we can have an Alliance so now we need a North American airline an Asian airline, South American, African, and European.

I will be based out of Europe for this one.  I'm not sure which airport yet, but it will either be London, Paris, or Amsterdam.  I'll be going for a legacy carrier, but I would totally be up for an alliance.

Also, with so much discussion for planes, I have come to a conclusion.  I am going to create a poll.  I will list  plane listed so far, as well as any others which are nominated.  We can all vote on with which plane we will start.

I do have to ask why so many peoplee want to start this world with small or obscure planes.  First off, not many airlines start with a DHC-200 and grow from there in the real world, and second, starting with smaller planes will really discourage anyone who starts late or gets reset from playing.  This is why I really like the Boeing 737s or Douglas DC-9s.  Like I said though, make suggestions and I'll create a poll this weekend.

Since I will not be a part of Airbusguys alliance, I have actually founded one in another world called SkyConnect while ago and if anyone is interested, I will happily start it up again in this world. :) You're thoughts, anyone who would like to join? We'll talk strategy once we know where everyone plans on basing

I'd like a spot in that alliance, if you don't mind.
