The system where you stream to your own device might be the future. The airline saves weight and costs and only has to install one central server. No screens are needed as you bring your own, no cables, no free headphones. Much simpler with wireless transmission. Whether they will charge or not I guess depends on their business model (Ryanair vs. Emirates as an example)

This system will not work with people who do not bring mobile phones, earphones, and suchlike. And the interior would look less high-tech too, being just filled with plain old seats. But it is a good idea for budget airlines to utilize. You are onto something there, Matias!

I'm sure it is the future - besides, which people can pay for a plane tiket but not a smartphone capable of streaming? Not many, I would say: long haul flights are still more expensive than lame smartphones.

Just wondering if there are any female players in Airline Mogul.

More and more women are pilots (and that's a good thing!), many women are fascinated by aircraft like us guys, but do they play the game?

Actually, surprisingly you do, as I just found out by searching a little.
At your forum statistics page we see a male-to-female ratio of 9.9 to 1

I'm getting real excited about my upcoming Summer trip! Not only for a new destination to discover, but for all the different flights I will take.

PAR CDG -SIN on Air France, B777 (return)
One night in a hotel in Singapore, with time for a stroll in the city and an evening tasting street-food stands.

SIN to Jogjakarta on Air Asia, probably an A320

Then it gets complicated, as we were supposed to make our way from Java to Lombok, but due to the earthquakes we had to cancel our hotel reservations, and we will lose our tickets Air Asia from Lombok > Kuala Lumpur > Singapore. For me its only a vacation, so my thoughts rest with all the people that live there, and I hope things will work out OK for them.

So we still have to figure out what we will do instead. A great trip it will be, no doubt!

Have a happy Summer everyone, I'll continue counting with you to 10,000 when I get back end of August :)
