The dynamics of the other game can be very different which led to plenty of gate hoarding.

Then, there's the 'idiots' in AM who like to role-play instead of profit maximising.  They are the ones chucking small planes at 4x frequency or something.

Some things about the LF script I learnt during my short time as a moderator:

1. Seats do matter, but only for aircraft with under 70 seats.  For aircraft smaller than 70 seats, your base demand decreases exponentially.

2. Speed is also factored into the LF script.

Anyone been watching this season's Air Crash Investigation?  They covered the DC-10's cargo doors in depth.  The DC-10 as it is today is very safe and versatile aircraft but back in the 70s, it wasn't so.

As for the A320, there was that crash of the AF A320 doing a flyby with pax on board.  Although the final blame was on the pilot, allegations of a coverup are abound.

Saw the e-mail in the inbox and although I'm no longer a player, many many congratulations to the re-branding and the launch of multiworlds.  Despite the initial glitches I see announced, it seems the game is working well.

Why are we restricted to only 6 bases per continent?  This is so unrealistic and limits the expansion and game potential for individual airlines so much.

Take a look at the most successful airline in Europe.  They are called "Ryanair" who offers cheap €0.02 routes everywhere they fly!  This airline sees high load factors and is popular with the people.  It is the "peoples airline" because it is so affordable.  They just opened their 25th base (in Birmingham) and have over 100 Boeing 737-800s on order.

If AM is to be "realistic" as people call for greater realism, we should be allowed to have at the bare mininum, 25 bases where we can fly out of.  Even better would be unlimited bases.  The mininum price should also be reduced to €0 with price increments to €0.01.

I have to say I disagree.  You've hardly opened flights to the region from Venice.  It's an easy 200k+ average per F28 which costs 1/10ths of a longhaul metal.

My little whine was directed at people in general who whine about my invasion of bases.  Takes about an hour to eat 25 gates, seriously.  MMOGs on the whole are competitive games and you simply can't take away that element.
