I hate games where you have to pay in order to be able to keep up with the other paying players... Luckily, tokens have no direct influence on the airline, so no problem here :D

I agree. One shouldn't buy themselves into the biggest airline/football team/drug dealer/whatever. I have nothing against payment in these game as long as it don't give any unfair advantages to those who don't. O0

I used to play Ogame six years ago, I also played Ikariam a while ago, then I played another airline sim and finally stumbled across AM. I did also play a (100% free) game called TOCgame (Train Operating Company game), but it had very few players and doesn't exist any more...

I think I played Ikariam some years ago, but I got bored of it pretty quickly. I tried to log on now, but I've changed email since the last time I played and I don't remember the password to that email. :P I'm also playing a sports sim called Powerplay Manager, which I quite like because there is no unfair advantages for those who buy the Pro-Pack, just a bunch of extra features.

The problem with Ikariam-like games is that you end up waiting tens of hours for that building to be ready...

I know. Should be more like SimCity, where you just plop a giant stadium that covers almost a quarter of your city and it's there in a second. Highly unrealistic, but hey, at least you won't have to wait. :P

SimCity was fun, but there hasn't really been made a worthy successor yet... Maybe Cities XL?
