Do you fancy having a stab at trying out a newly-privatised flag carrier?

In Private World #529 the normal multi-country hub system we see in AM is outlawed.  Instead each player faces the challenge of setting up an airline based out of one country only*, mirroring the 'real world' that the aviation industry once operated in.  With a maximum of 3 hubs (and obviously no foreign focus cities), the enormous growth you sometimes see from airlines operating out of the Top 6 airports in the world is a thing of the past.
* See below for exception.

Obviously those who think size is everything are free to set up their three bases at the mega-hubs of the USA, China, Japan etc. as long as they stick to the one country rule.  I, for one, have gone for Switzerland just to see how I fare.

Here's the basics:

PW #529
Starting year: 1990
Duration: 10 years
World type: Full World, all continents
Starting aircraft: 2 x Boeing 737-300
Starting cash: €500,000
Password: flags

As an added incentive to join, I will top up your cash with a €10M bonus so that you can buy a plane or two, set up a second base or do whatever you please. I am also happy to let you know in advance if your desired country and/or base is already taken before you join.

Rules
Players may set up a maximum of three bases in one country only, with the following exception: it is acknowledged that some of the juiciest bases are located in countries with few (or no) other significant airports. Players may therefore set up 'treaty airlines' that cover up to two suitable countries geographically nearby, subject to agreement with me in advance. Examples that I have identified as acceptable are:
> Belgium + Netherlands
> Singapore + Malaysia
> Hong Kong + Taiwan
> Latvia + Lithuania + Estonia
etc.

The one country rule does not apply if you are flying routes out of an alliance partner's base, so if you really are feeling expansionist then this may be the impetus to set up your very own Star or oneworld.
There will be fines and bans for anyone who flouts the underlying rule of the world.

All welcome! :)

Sorry to be nitpicking, but isn't Hong Kong returned to the PRC (mainland China) already?

(I mean in 1997, which would be 7 years after the starting date of your world.)

No, not at all - plenty of room for lots of airlines in the larger countries.

Yeah, obviously it is (ish), but in the game it comes up different so I thought I'd allow it linked to Taiwan just to boost the opportunities for anyone interested in basing at Taipei.

Yep, no problem - no-one else has joined up yet, so the world is your oyster.

I would like to have Japan and I will be Japan Airlines, however I dont have the tokens needed so i will join in 8 days. So if you could keep my airline name open that would be great.

OK, we now have the following:

Swissair - hubs in Zurich and Geneva
Air Canada - hub in Toronto
Romanian Airlines - hub in Bucharest
Delta Airlines - hub in Atlanta (USA)
Malaysia Airlines - hub in Kuala Lumpur
AirAsia - hub in Singapore

All airlines have been credited with their €10M joining bonus.

Hmmmm.  Well, I'll say no to Malaysia seeing as an airline has now based there, but it probably was the logical choice.  OK, in that case it'll have to be Brunei, as I think Indonesia is big enough on its own. :)
