It was decided to update the forum and in the process switch to SMF. This change will allow users to in the future change the theme of their Airline Mogul pages and the forum pages to what they want. Along with this, I also hope to offer alliances their own sub-section of the board.

Change is not always a positive thing for some people, but I hope in the grand scheme of what can be offered, everyone can appreciate it.

On a note about the forum signatures, the first character disappears during the conversion. Don't forget to update your signature to make sure it works correctly.

Damn it, the forum doesn't load at all for me (always says "waiting for stephenm.org") unless I use a proxy, and some links lead to a "not found" page!

edit: i also despise the default theme, switched to another one that looks like vBulletin for familiarity although i also hate that one...

OK the look I'm getting used to now. A couple problems though, emoticons don't seem to be in line with text and the text itself is a bit small. Its fine on my XGA resolution laptop but it would be very hard to read (or so I imagine) on my 19" standard desktop monitor.

edit: problem connecting to the site also seems to have fixed itself

How do you change the theme?
I can't seem to find anything...

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it...
Idk, but it might be a good idea to change the default to something else, since what's set now is really different from the old theme, and I'm guessing that that confuses people...

I like how you can personalize the forum now, but it seems like there is now a message limit... maybe I just didn't notice it before... but that 20,000 character limit is rather annoying.

Edit: Confirmed - it's a new limit.

My post, which I was trying to edit, contained 40,448 characters before the edit.  I was told that the limit is 20,000 with this new forum. >:(

Uh, the forum is running really, REALLY slow for me. It took about 25 seconds to load this page...and its just this forum, too. AM, the non-forum section of StephenM.org, and most everything else is fine. Is it just my internet connection? Or is it to do with some type of script on this forum causing it to slow down?

Everything fixed I think. Increased font size, lined up emoticons (and all images, for that matter).

That's great, but the forum is still quite slow...might be my ISP's problem though.

lol, it took so long to post this that the session timed out while it was posting the message...

I have a problem with the show unread posts function. If i'm gone for a few hours, it won't list any threads, even if there is lots of unread posts.

I have the same problem. However, you may notice that when that happens, there is link with the text "No unread topics found since your last visit. Click here to try all unread topics." Using that link will show all messages still unread.
