I'm having trouble. I'm using Photoshop 7, and I am trying to Polygonal Lasso the area where there will be a stripe down the fuselage, and I am trying to make the area I have selected a new layer, so that I can turn down the Opacity of the stripes so that the cracks in the fuselage will be seen underneath. I press ctrl+c then ctrl+v, but it's not making a new layer. What should I do?

Make a new layer by yourself and then paste over it. I am not too familiar with Photoshop either.

My Aim is: Creating a real-world like airline with reasonable flight frequencies and rational aircraft type of fleet, by not necessarily hogging the game's nature/bugs/lacking.

I'm not sure with Photoshop 7, but if there is a "Layer" selection in the menubar, select it, and then "New" then select "Layer"

Select the area you want to copy -> Menu Layer -> New -> Layer via Copy

Otherwise Menu Layer -> New -> Blank and simply paint the area you want to color, adjust opacity and merge

Neither work. The whole 'Layer' drop down has gone that grey shade where you can't click on it. I am using a template from Jetabout.
