Focus city - return extra gates?

After I create a focus city, do I have to use them all or can I return the ones I don't use?

You can return the ones you don't use.

You can just return them if you're not gonna use all of them, otherwise the unused gates would be returned after two month changes and you'd have to re-rent them anyway, and pay rent for two months IIRC.

So you only need four when you create the base?

Yep. And then you can return 3  

[Hot Drink]

But you can't return your terminal in you focus city.
