Already got Australia, but yes. that'd what I need to get the states/provinces/etc into the database, if you want to go to the Nth degree find the airports within those states/provinces/etc and list their airport id's after the territory name.

i.e.
Quote
United States:

Minnesota:
874, 928, 138...

[which translates into bemidji, duluth, msp... etc. etc. etc.]

I only listed them the states and added the Northern Territory& Australian Capital Territory.

Now the admins gotta decide: Do you want to include the NT&ACT in the search option or not?(I'd say it's not really necesarry)

I think adding states to small countries might be overkill as that wont say much to the unknowing user, with only one airport per state. Regions might be better, like Sweden that has 25 landskap (states), there are also 21 sub-regions, that has 1 or more states in it, and finally there are the 3 large regions.
In order to easily see what airpoorts are close to where I suggest using the larger of the 3, with 3 regions.

I can do which ever you want for Sweden, and the airports that belongs where :)

Hey Hannover International, if you want to you can add the German airports- I don't think I'll have a chance to do that over the weekend.

The way i'm envisioning this panning out is that the only place it really attacks you forcefully for any state info is submit airport [and an admin page or two related to airport additions].  Beyond that, specific state(s) will pretty well fall off to a secondary (sortable) column in gate search / rent gate / view gates, with the option to view a specific state only offered wherever a country has >= 50 airports.  Unless Sweden is likely to grow by the 25~30 airports needed to hit that level, I'll leave it to your prerogative for whatever is common and useful.  If you're gonna do the airports as well that is, otherwise, whatever is easily looked up in GC or the like.

Oh and AHI/et. al. If you're updating for the airport portion, you only need to mention the country then the state/airport id lists, no need to restate the states themselves.

Just have the states themselves [including ACT], still need the airports done.  That'd be amazing, even if you only get one or two states done.
