yes, it is paintball with more realistic guns and plastic pellets and because of it being realistic, they need orange tips
@blumage, me and my friends play with low powered guns, and a lot of rules (ex, surrender rules, i rarely get hit, i am planing on becoming a sniper, less contact and usually MG (machine gun) support)

Such a great game, my friends which is my cousin's husband nephew which also happens to play airsoft, they organize battles every sunday, they go to the mountains, hills or wherever they go and simulate a war. From their videos it's like being inside the Vietnam War, Everyone of them is dressed in a military outfit and they have to fight against the opposing team. I guess that the loosing team needs to treat out the winning one. Regarding being hit by pellets I was directly hit im my stomach when i was 12, Ouch I can still feel the pain. Hehehe

lol, dont let injuries bring you down! once you get good at it you almost never get shot! i just played a 3+hour game, with a lot of people having snipers, and i only got hit twice! once between the eyes (thank goodness for glasses!) and on the arm, not sure where though, i forgot

anyway, airsoft can be fun if you play with rules! implement surrender rules, rules on getting out, etc!

Here in Germany it's very hard to organize events... but I play it from time to time with a couple of friends. Last summer we played it near an old castle, and a friend of mine got hit in the eye by a bullet :x

We do wear glasses, but we had just announced a break and another friend of mine didn't hear that...

But the therapy for that was cool: The guy wasn't allowed to go to school for two weeks but had to play computer to keep his eyes focussed :D
