I like looking at artists concepts of models in JAWA. was looking through JAWA 92/93 and saw an artists concept of a MD-12 and a 747-X... they looked surprisingly like the A380 [both were planned, or at least "suggested to the market", double deckers].  shock and awe.

define success. it's looking like there's a fairly real chance the A380 itself will be unsuccessful [from a profit standpoint, i think the projections are at list prices taking a decade or two to recoup the development costs.  Few deals are struck at list prices, and of course, there's worries, but no disclosures, as to how heavily discounted the A380s which have been sold really are. all we know is it's "above the price of the materials"].  from a flying standpoint, there are a lot of successes which went nowhere. :P

AM bought JAWA (btw, the book or subscription?).   No wonder you need ads! Everyone donate! They spent fortune getting data, so you should all pay! Lol.....I want jawa. Humph.

Yea, I used to draw planes as well, had a whole Airbus replacement family going. Of course, it wasn't called the Airbus. I'm not releasing the manufacturing name (as Micro$oft always says, 'it's an industry secret'). But yea, those were fun times :D

ive drawn two planes:

A.  there are two pairs of wings, one in back and one in front.  When it goes down, the wings pivot and the angle of the plane stays the same.

B.  Has 18 jet engines as well as 4 rocket engines.  Used for space travel. :D

I wish the MD-11 stretch materialised (it's a 3-engined 773!) and the MD-11LR as well.  Sigh.
