Government mandated minimum pricing on leases and sales ?

I tried leasing out and selling an airplane today.  The game limits what you can do for pricing.  Is this not totally unrealistic?  Why shouldn't I be allowed to sell a plane for what I want?  I'm not just going to scrap the plane as it's not worth it to go through the hassle otherwise.

most accounting standards require you to state some in-trading deals, and frankly. it's more of an anti-cheating measure then anything else.

Sure you can try to sell a DC-3 at 5 billion dollars, but odds are the market won't buy it.  and few to no businesses would lease a plane away for free... so that one's somewhat irrational as well.

But. in the end. it's an anti-cheating measure.

I don't want to sell a DC-3 for that much.  I also don't want to put it in the queue of 400 DC-3's all at the same price hoping that mine will sell.  I just scrapped it instead.  Selling or leasing out just seems more hassle than its worth.

Depends on the type of plane, point in the age, and what you're expecting out of it.  A DC-3 at this stage is fairly worthless because there's thousands of them.  a super connie is still fairly valuable, though the brokers (official and non) have been whittling away at its prices.
