Aer Lingus to cut fuel surcharges

Aer Lingus is to cut fuel surcharges by 25 per cent on its long-haul flights.

The airline said the fuel surcharge reduction represents a decrease of €10 each way and comes as a result of decreasing international oil prices.

The reduction will apply to all bookings made after midnight tonight on all services between Ireland and the United States and Middle East.

The move makes Aer Lingus the latest in a growing number of airlines, including British Airways and Air France, to have reduced extra ticket charges imposed when the cost of oil rose towards the record levels last year.
