How come it takes a very, very long time for broker requested aircraft to come into your fleet but when you buy it in the game, it takes much less than that??

Incorrect. The broker requests takes the same time, after the broker has accepted the request, as teh regular order. Any delay is on the broker accepting it part. Another point is you might have confused the ticker for those 72 hours the planes are listed to you exclusively, with the ticker before that when the planes were being manufactured. So, you may want to check your "incoming private offers" page.

You pay a part of it in advance and pay the rest upon delivery.

The sad part is if you don't buy the planes within 3 days... they basically get free planes

they get planes at half off if you don't pick it up in 3 days. normal players get planes at 65% if not picked up in 3 days.

Free ain't free, in your statement.
