Does anyone here play Chris Sawyer's Transport Tycoon?  I find it to be such an awesome game, with a very wide range of stuff to transport (passengers, mail, wood, steel, iron, oil etc.) by various means (road, rail, air, water).

I play the open-source improvement of the original, called OpenTTD.  It allows you far more vehicles and a larger station spread (up to 50 tiles!).  It's also fixed some bugs in the game, which means I cannot sabotage the competitiors' railways - I really miss doing that!

yea... the OpenTTD version... I've heard about it but when I saw the screenshots, I was like omg, how the *** am I going to play it? There are so many things going on in that screen.
Btw, the tech support for OpenTTD has stopped, correct? (I fadely recalled that the last time I went to that website.)

I have no idea.  I know they've released a newer version of it (presumably more bugs fixed) quite recently, since my version is out of date!  I don't see any issues at the moment anyway and it's better than Chris Sawyer's original in every way.  Only issue is that the game becomes taxing on the CPU when you have lots of vehicles!

I've played it once or twice in the summer. I got sick of it not working  but it's working now.

OpenTTD is good, but I can never get enough of the TTDPatch with the Scotland 1956 scenario.

Classic.  8)

I played the first version of that game long ago (was it 1994?) and bought the Transport Tycoon deluxe version. Unfortunatly it crashed so many times. I was glad to find the OpenTTD version which is running much more stabil on WIN systems. It is still one of my favourite games. Never found a better game than this one although I tried different ones - like Railroad Tycoon. Does anybody know a good game in the TTDLX style?

god, locomotion blowed, actually the whole "transportation treated as rides" issue on rct 1 and 2 sucked

I love TTD and it´s sequels, I also play simutrans but I found it to be really buggy

some other cool transportation games are Traffic giant and Mobility (this one was the most realistic of all I´ve played and it´s almost free)
ordillera Airlines, your gate to the South Pacific

Excuse me for my poor english :)
