It depends more on your bank balance. If you go into debt when creating an alliance, your airline value will decrease as well. If you don't go into debt, I don't think your airline value goes down too much.

In that case, don't. It will probably reduce your airline value to something quite low.

Not to mention it would take about a game month to get back into the black.

Bit of a no-brainer.  I'd say wait until your dop hits €5m.  Making an alliance now will prove very costly to your expansion.

Dude, build up your own network first. Also, forget about alliances... You may have better luck just using the cash to create 1 or 2 hubs. It also depends on where you are located and how much competition there is. I'd say if you must get into an alliance, get in one that operates mostly out of a different continent. That's a true alliance. But regardless.... it seems that you have a loooooong way to go before that happens. Make some mone, buy some planes, get some routes going, a second or even a third hub then maybe you can think about an alliance.

Alliances can be very very useful. You get cheap planes, guys who buy YOUR planes and tip-offs about gates, planes and the game in general.

________
Edit: At least that's the way it is in the alliance that I'm going to join again.
