BIG NEWS: Dedicated Server

Alright. we've got ahold of a dedicated server, the files, php, mysql, and such seem to be set up. the last thing (it appears) is to properly transfer over the domain name and an "up to date" copy of the actual database contents.

This is likely to happen within the next 24 to 48 hours.  We hope this transfer can go smoothly, with no loss of data or the like.

DURING THIS PROCESS THE GAME WILL BE FROZEN/OFFLINE.

When taken down, we hope to have it back up in a relatively short period of time, but of course. life is a crazy thing some times so i make no promises other then we will be working on it as fast as we can.

After this server move, terminals should be introduced shortly, a few bugs patched, and an update to view_routes.

Multiple games = big update to several key tables to be done properly.  As soon as next age starts, we'll be using the old server as a test server and get cracking on it as quick as we can.

Once we have a working model, that seems relatively bug free we'll take the site down, do the necessary updates, and launch parallel games.

We can do a simple multi-world scheme, which is terrible to maintain for long-term reasons, if need be.

Dedicated server = faster site overall, no cpu exceeded things, and likely a few features that were a little hoggy before, but were pretty well optimized.

I really think multiple games will be a huge help to the game, since the majority of the problems seem to be a result of overcrowding.  Glad to hear you guys are working on it, and that it'll be done right!

yeah, you know, accidently, it'll work, but be careful not to delete long haul 0.5 frequencies
