Hong Kong Airways

Hong Kong Airways has retired its last propeller aircraft, the NAMC YS11-500. On flight HKA2864 from Sado to Haneda, passengers were handed out models of YS11 to commemorate this achievement.

5 more 737-200Adv HGWs have been ordered. They will be used for route expansion, along with the current 737s which are partially being replaced by MD-81/82s.

Hong Kong Airways goes international!

With our new fleet of 767-200ERs, we have expanded to Europe, North America, and Australasia! We can now serve emigrating Hongkongers and their family and friends.

First Airbus Order
Hong Kong Airways became the launch customer of the Airbus A320-200, when it ordered 25 on the day Airbus launched the model. They will be used on high volume routes throughout Asia.

Updated Logo
The Dukling logo has been updated.

The proportions were slightly altered to make the sail look more balanced. The font has been changed from Helvetica Bold to Glober Bold.

New Boeing Orders
Hong Kong Airways announces its biggest order ever. 4 Boeing 747-400s (launch customer) and 30 Boeing 757-200s have been ordered. All will be powered by Rolls-Royce RB211s. These larger jets will allow us to better compete in the increasingly competitive world.
