I read in forum where the larger planes are NOT profitable. Ok. But, what about using a 737-200 that has range of, something like 1600 miles(I could be wrong), for a route less than 1,000 miles? Would the fuel use/maintenance be worth flying it? Or should I stick to almost maximum range for the higher fuel aircraft? I usually fly Tup 354 or KVC for the shorter flights. I was just wondering if it is feasible to add more seats on a mid range flight of 737-200 and still be quite profitable?

Thx for advice.  :)

A plane as the 737-200Adv is exceptionally good at longer routes, as it has a high speed, so you shoul use it primarily up to its range limit. It is not a bad idea to use a 1500-2000mi narrowbody for short hops, but a big prop aircraft might be more profitable, as it uses a considerable less amount of fuel. Your selection of the KFC is really good, and as the range of the aircraft influences on price (thus also maintenance), the Tu-334/354 is also a good choice.
When flying s/h, speed is not really important, fuel usage is.
