Soon to be celebrating the addition of the airline's 5th aircraft, a third ATR 72-200, PrizyetsAir is currently on track with it's projected build-up phase. Having started off with a single LET L-420, the airline's carrying capacity has expanded nearly tenfold in just a few months to just over 2000 passengers daily, on 19 routes. We are all looking forward to the next quarter of growth for the airline.

With a main hub in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, PrizyetsAir has access to nearly all of Europe's airports, however with the current fleet of LET L-420 and L-610 and ATR 72-200 aircraft, PrizyetsAir simply lacks the capacity to reach the further airports in Eastern Europe. As a result of this, PrizyetsAir is proud to announce the planned procurement of several Boeing 737-700 type aircraft for use on the planned Amsterdam-Athens and Amsterdam-Moscow routes. During a press conference announcing the opening of the Amsterdam-Majorca route, PrizyetsAir Chairman Steve Frankenhuizen commented, "It will still be a matter of months before these plans become reality, but they will definitely happen in the near future.", when asked about future developments of the airline.

As it stands now, PrizyetsAir is climbing fast at rank 15 in the world, and 9th in Europe alone. With development occurring at the rate it is, it won't be long before PrizyetsAir breaches the top-10 global airlines.

PrizyetsAir is proud to announce the following; PrizyetsAir has adopted a new livery for use on the fleet's ATR 72-200 aircraft, and two additional routes have been added to PrizyetsAir's list of destinations served!

The new livery, dubbed "Flying Orange", for use out of Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport has formally been announced and revealed to an enthusiastic public this afternoon. The color orange was chosen to represent the fleet out of Amsterdam for it's assosiation with the Netherlands, the host country of PrizyetsAir. "We hope that this move not only strengthens our relationship with the local population, who are the biggest supporters of our young airline, but also makes our planes stand out more when in the air or on the tarmac." said Steven Frankenhuizen, the Chairman of PrizyetsAir.

In other exciting news, PrizyetsAir has opened it's two newest routes a full two months ahead of schedual. The new destinations, Athens and Moscow (Domodedovo) are served with a PrizyetsAir ATR 72-200, and fly at full capacity. The routes together mark an important milestone for PrizyetsAir, the 1300NM mark, and heralds the beginning of the next stage of development for PrizyetsAir. "Right now, we comprise of 14.1% of air travel out of Amsterdam, which is third after our colleagues at LOT Polish Airlines and Kuuungen Airlines. While this is good for a young airline, we naturally would like to have a larger share be ours. The only real way to do this, taking into consideration the expansion of these two other airlines would be to grow ourselves, and to do so, we're going to need a bigger plane." Frankenhuizen stated. The decision to order the Boeing 737-700 is still in place, however other, more economical, alternatives are being looked at such as the €40.5 million BAe-146-300. At the moment however, nothing can be set in stone as the young airline needs room to grow. Explaining the airline's hesistance to release information regarding the future aircraft procurements for PrizyetsAir, Frankenhuizen quoted the American author Gail Sheehy; "If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we aren't really living."

PrizyetsAir is proud to present the winner of the 1999 Expansion Procurement Contest! After two long days of debate behind closed doors, the board of PrizyetsAir has chosen the British Aerospace Avro RJ85 to fill the "Medium Range" aircraft role for the airline. With the first aircraft to be delivered by mid-February, PrizyetsAir will still be procuring ATR 72-200 aircraft to fill the remaining capacity on existing routes, as well as to phase out the remaining LET L-420 and LET L-610 aircraft which are in use for the "Short-Medium Range" roles. This increase in carrying capacity per plane will allow for more economical operations.

When interviewed, Steven Frankenhuizen had this to say; "The decision was not an easy one, but it has finally been made. Our choice for the Avro RJ85 was finally made when we viewed the initial price and fuel consumption on the routes planned to be used by it. Another bonus we saw was the fact that the Avro RJ85 is a jet aircraft, which travels faster than the propeller aircraft we already have, allowing us to fly more people in a shorter span of time." The Avro RJ85 promises to be a more than capable addition to the PrizyetsAir fleet.

With the phasing out of the LET L 420 and LET L-610 from the PrizyetsAir fleet, a number of ATR 42-500 aircraft have been ordered in order to fill the now lacking "Short Range" routes. With these new aircraft, PrizyetsAir will be able to serve it's routes under 750NM with a single type of aircraft, standardizing maintenance procedures and turn-around. The first procurement of 2 ATR 42-500 type aircraft will arrive in Amsterdam on the 8th of February 1999, and will take over the services to Brussels, Frankfurt, Paris (Orly) and Paris (Charles DuGaule), all from Amsterdam. With the addition of the first AVRO RJ85 scheduled later in February, PrizyetsAir's chairman, Steven Frankenhuizen's statements regarding the airline's rapid growth seem to all be coming true.

With the delivery of the first Avro RJ85 to the PrizyetsAir fleet, the airline now enters the jet age! An additional two ATR 42-500s have also been delivered, and have proven to be more than capable in supplementing the airline's shorter routes such as the Amsterdam-Paris and the Amsterdam-London routes. Also, three new routes have been added to the airlines growing list, making PrizyetsAir the largest airline based in Amsterdam!

The arrival of the airline's long-awaited first Avro RJ85 has proven to be a good move- so good a move that the airline has placed an order for an additional aircraft to further develop the airline's longer flights. Serving the Amsterdam-Moscow (Demodedovo) and Amsterdam-Istanbul, the RJ85 seats 112 passengers making it the largest aircraft operated by PrizyetsAir and forms a vital role in the further development of the airline. "Now that we have the capacity to carry the passengers the full distance at a higher speed" PrizyetsAir's chairman explains, "we can now concentrate on rearranging the flight roster to profit most on these new aircraft." The airline is so happy with the RJ85, that an order has been placed for a second aircraft, and more orders will be made in the future when the funds become available to do so.

Three new routes have been added to PrizyetsAir's list of destinations, bringing the number of routes served up to 24, making PrizyetsAir the largest airline operating out of Amsterdam as a main hub. Accounting for 21.78% of passengers out of the airport (see chart below), the airline looks to improve on that rate, bringing it up to at least 40 before the year 2000. "We feel that it would be a wise decision to solidify our grip on our main hub before branching out, or even starting trans-Atlantic services. I guarantee you that you'll see them in the future, but probably not until mid 2000 at the earliest." With this image of a truly global airline, PrizyetsAir hopes to become even more popular with the implementation of new budget routes, for example the Amsterdam-Brussels route, costing only €250. As seen in the chart above, the new budget routes have already made PrizyetsAir the number one provider for the Amsterdam-Brussels route.
