It looks a lot like the Stratos 714, but I can see it is not.
Is it a prototype? A one-off aircraft? A redesign?

Yes. here's another clue. The company made some of the world's most unusual aircraft. One of the aircraft broke a record.

The handlebar for the center window seems to have been broken off! :D

Yes, it's an old jetliner. They would all be emergency escapes, yes. The first versions of this aircraft did not have this shape of windows though.
