Hint: The Cuba crisis started when one of these took photos of a Russian freighter with missiles onboard.

Correct! It was a Danish RF-84F Thunderflash that took the first photos of Russian freighters travelling towards Cuba with nuclear missiles and fighters on the deck ;)
