Hello!

Sometimes I send important messages to other people regarding aircraft sales. But when they reply, I have completely forgotten what I sent them, so I don't have a clue on what to tell them.

That's why I want to ask if it's possible to make an outbox in the game? That way I (and all other players) will have an easier time with this vast improvement.

And add to that the ability to make line breaks, then you'll have the perfect messaging system!

I think there were plans to overhaul the in-game messaging system, but outboxes, and perhaps even conversation view (like Gmail) would definitely be good.

Well you see the problem is we have two schools of thought on it. With the greater adoption of smart phones, people may prefer the combined inbox approach that you'd normally find there. The sent messages and received ones would appear in one list and you click on the one you want to look at.

The second option is a more comprehensive message inbox, along the lines of Gmail or Outlook. We have built a semi-functional one but things changed and people moved towards the simpler way. I'd like to do a vote on it and see what people like.

Here's the example of Option 2:

Option 1 would be similar to the existing system, but it would make better use of space. Messages would appear on the left and the full text on the right, with threading/conversations possible too. (One message would appear after another, in reverse order meaning newest on top or the other way around).

Wow, I didn't knew the work was so far in progress! I'm looking forward to see this - especially if it is option two that you are going to use.

That looks pretty 8) and nice!

Wait a sec.... The messages date back to 2008 - why has nothing happened?

You'd be surprised what gets caught somewhere along the line and gets forgotten about.

As I said, when I moved to implement it I got feedback that people instead wanted the simpler combined inbox. Thats why I threw it out there for people to comment on.

I was about to start a topic about this, but I see there's already one. Great! This looks awesome though! I got the same problem as Matias. I send quite a lot of messages and I have a hard remembering them all. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but since I'm just 22, this can't be it.. right? Anywho, looks great! Keep it up and I'd like to see this ingame :)

If anyone is willing to help improve a few items on it, particularly from the graphics point of view I'd be delighted to hear from you. I need a few images/icons created for it, and we don't have anyone in-house that's able to do it at the moment.

just a idea, but maybe you could implement a checkbox list of categories in the 'send mail' screen, such as 'Aircraft', 'Alliance' and 'General', so the sender can check off the category they want the mail to be kept in. Just my idea, it doesn't need to be used-but it would be cool if it did! :P

Well what it currently does is automatically categorise them. I set all of that up when I first started working on the implementation. I'll do an update screenshot shortly.

I have a question -- Where will the icons be?
