It sed to be +2...0 degrees Celsius before the New Year holidays... -4 currently, and -6 is expected tommorow. Sadly, 0 is expected around saturday again. Looks like December and January have forgotten thet they are Winter actually) It used to be -15...-25 in January a few years ago... And in 2005 it was -35 or -40 in the end of January/beginnig of February. The quote of the year was 'Well, Greenpeace, where is your goddamn warming?'
P.S. And I'm in Moscow, a 'small' city in Russia)

I would say either London or Paris.

According to wiki, Moscow is by far the largest in Europe. The population is almost twice as big as that of London :o

In morphological, proper, population and functional terms, Moscow is ahead of all other cities in Europe. One source I found says that Paris is slightly bigger, but that was in 2008. That contradicts all the up-to-date sources.

Yea, Moscow and Petersburg are pretty big cities... The other thing is that they conclude the list of very big cities in Russia. There are 10 more with population >1 000 000 people (+2 with 980 000 people), and rest are much smaller.
P.S. Well, actually a lot of other European cities are older than Moscow (and Petersburg, of course), but I don't know wether it's good or not

We have a city over 1000 years old in Denmark, but hey, Rome is what, 2500+ years old?

Yea, that's true... Replacing all the old pipes/roads/etc was painful, I suppose)
Some Russian cities are about 1100-1200 years old, and some monastery around modern-day Suzdal is dated 999 A.D. :) I bet there is no more such cities! ;)

But didn't Napoleon try to invade Russia? Denmark was one of the allies of Napoleon.

I'm afraid Napoleon wasn't inviting any country into his alliance. He conquered everybody into his alliance, including 'Unholly Unroman Unempire'
