What's the difference between the old and new route maps?

If you send a request to join a world and it's accepted, do I automatically get entered into the world? I want to send requests to several worlds then choose 1 from the ones I'm accepted to. So if it automatically enters me I guess I can't.

Old route map is powered by Great Circle Mapper (GCM) v.1; New route map is powered by ammap.

ammap allows zooming, and has clear indication of base, focus cities, and destination. If you put your mouse on top of an airport, the IATA code would show up.

The request to join a world is simply a PM to the world owner. You would have to include a way for the owners to contact you with the password. They cannot really "approve" you into a world technically speaking. You still have to join one on your own, with the password that the owner has provided, and paying the 30 tokens joining fee of the world.
