If you are keen to join a modern, virtual world of real airlines, then PW#1075 Airline Empires: The REAL World is for you!

PW#1075 is based on the real world and just like with real airlines, there will be Airline Awards awarded to players, Airline ratings, real airline alliances and special benefits will be introduced throughout the 'life span' of the world.

To join this world, you will need to select an airline from the list below. Once you have made your choice, please post on here or contact me via PM for the password. You will be responsible to grow and expose your airline and its operations to the world, working your way towards being the top airline of the virtual world!

There is one main rule: Your main hub needs to be in the country that the real airline operates from. You are allowed to create secondary hubs, which you will have freedom to choose anywhere in the world. You will be free to use any aircraft and create any routes you wish to.

I never knew Hellenic Imperial Airways was more significant than Philippine Airlines... (I don't think Air Philippines is really that 'major')  ???

Also, China Airlines/Mandarin Airlines, Cathay Pacific/Dragonair, Alitalia/Volare, are subsidaries, which I think don't belong there... ...missing quite a few big carriers - VARIG/Gol, Philippine Airlines, China Eastern, Delta Airlines (?!), EasyJet, SkyWest (big fleet), RAM, Air Algerie, Saudi Arabian, Hainan Airlines, AirAsia, Air India (?!), Asiana, Olympic, Republic, and the list goes on.... :o

The airlines mentioned are all real airlines, fairly large and currently operating in a country. I have not listed them according to importance or popularity. (I can't list every airline, so I selected 2 - 4 airlines per country)

I orgininally had the idea of using the 2009 Airline Award winners and adding a few more, depending on how many people are interested to play in the world.

1 Cathay Pacific Airways
2 Singapore Airlines
3 Asiana Airlines
4 Qatar Airways
5 Emirates
6 Qantas
7 Etihad Airways
8 Air New Zealand
9 Malaysia Airlines
10 Thai Airways

Maybe use this list? http://www.worldairlineawards.com/Awards_2009/ResultsFull-09.htm

Good idea/Bad idea?

Air Philippines is a sister company of Philippine Airlines. Now currently operating all PAL express A/C (Dash 300 and Q400) and routes.

Cebu Pacific Air, Philippine Airlines, Zest Airways(former Asian Spirit) are the 3 largest carriers in the Philippines.

Sounds all good to me, would definitely be interested.

I usually play under JAY-AIR but naturally would be willing to forego that.
Don't want to 'call' which Airline I would be, but am happy to join.

Jay

The point with the listed airlines is that one, two or three fairly-well known and successful airlines, represents a country.

The whole idea with the world is that there is fair competition. Having a fairly equal amount of airlines per country will keep it that way.

Jay: Cool! That's what I like to hear....can you just give me an indication of which country you would be keen be based in? Or you can let me know which airline and I will be able to scratch it from the list so no one else takes it.
