I've been playing AM for a while now, but I still can not grasp the concept of keeping my maintenance fees down. I do great for a while staying #2 in most cases, then I start seeing negative bank balances and then I'm stuck. How do I keep the fees down?

First, read this.

Second, what planes are you buying? And how often are you replacing them?

Ok, 7 years old for an aircraft is way too old. I try to replace aircrafts every 3 years, so the still have some resale value.

The types of planes you are using are way too large/expensive for your current DOC.

Okay, but generally speaking, if I compare 764 and 772 with A330-300LR for a distance of 5000nm, which is better on maintenance? Or to put it another way, is Boeing "generally" better on maintenance than Airbus?

In this game: higher purchase price = higher maintenance.

Yes.

And, yes, different leasing arrangements are being developed.

Hello i have a base in BKK and in a few years i am thinking of switching my 737-300's on routes like BKK-tokyo to a330-300. Do you think this would be profitable and does anybody have expireince with using high capacity aircraft on around 300nm routes. thanks :)

High capacity aircraft will not be as profitable (in terms of return on investment) as smaller aircraft. That said, something like an A330 would probably not make a loss (just don't expect to make a fortune).

to keep it profitable, you'll have to replace the aircraft every few years
