I was taking a look at various aircraft and in the big main list, most of the "typical" range figures are in Statute Miles.  The exception is the A330/340 family to name one, which seems to be in Nautical Miles.

In the select engine page however, everything is written down as Nautical Miles, which is even more confusing.  For example, the longest ranged variant of the A340-300 states "8510nm".  However, no A343 has 8510nm range...but they actually have approx 8510mi in the real-world.

Same goes for the 777-200 with the RR Trents 895s, 8820nm is 772LR territory, but 8820mi would make sense...

etcetc...
