Press were on hand to witness the historic flight. An Aotearoa Airways spokesman said today that this is part of Aotearoa Airways' strategy to use Auckland as a gateway into New Zealand.

Would there be any chance of older aircraft templates being put up?

Thanks for that ba4! A bugger that there are no DC-3 templates.

Hi, I was hoping I could get a logo and liveries for my two aircraft: -

Logo Request Form
Your Airline Name - Aotearoa Airways
Country Your Airline Is Registered In - New Zealand
Colors - Red, black, and white
Extra Information - Something which incorporates the design themes of the tino rangatiratanga flag would be awesome, but "contemporised" to a 1950s look

Using that logo, I would really appreciate getting a paint scheme for my airline's two aircraft: -

  • Handley Page HPR-1 Marathon, Rego: ZK-AAA, Name: Canterbury Crusader
  • Douglas DC-3, Rego: N111ER, Name: Wellington Hurricane
Thanks!

New Airline Commences Services from Auckland

Saturday 8th May, Auckland - A new air route was established when Aotearoa Airways' Handley-Page Marathon touched down at Christchurch Airport today. Christchurch Mayor Robert Macfarlane was there to greet the inaugural landing of the scheduled flight which will better connect Auckland and Christchurch. In addition, Aotearoa Airways has established a route to the capital with a DC-3 aircraft flying four times a week.

Aotearoa Airways' Chairman Benjamin Lee has said that he intends to build routes across the Tasman to challenge Sydney-based Aeropelican's monopoly on the trans-Tasman market.

Prime Minister Sidney Holland has told the New Zealand Herald that he wholeheartedly agrees with increasing the level of competition in air travel between the two nations.
