Bugs / Re: Projected totals showing 0 on financial page

57.5 million

I checked again today, and everything was filled out as normal.  So, it seems to be a temporary glitch.

Bugs / Projected totals showing 0 on financial page
« on: June 26, 2011, 05:38:01 am »
My airline (ID 47487, world 1699; which, admittedly, I haven't done anything with in quite some time, but it's still active) is showing 0s for all "to-date" financial statistics (both revenue and expenses).  Further, while it does have projected monthly totals for the daily revenue/expense items (ticket revenue, fuel, staff, misc. expenses), it shows 0 for the projected total of all of the monthly expenses (gate rental and maintenance).

What's up with that?

Bugs / Re: [Fixed] Profit not consistent

I found one other spot where this still exists.  On the view aircraft page (listing all airplanes), you still have the higher daily profit.  Once you click on the aircraft, you see the correct daily profit for that individual plane.

I am not talking about changing ticket prices (that would be obvious, I mean...seriously).

When you first click "edit" the ticket price doesn't change.

In one example, on the aircraft summary/route summary screen, a particular route's profit is $73,048.  When I open that route and click edit, *without changing anything* the route's profit appears on the edit route screen as $70,906 (the load factor is 100%).

I raise the fare on the route a bit, and the new profit is now $73,260 (still 100% load factor).  When I refresh the aircraft summary screen, the route's profit is now listed as $75,401.

Yesterday, I did a bit more experimenting, and found that for the routes that I was editing, flown by 757-200s, in each case the profit on the aircraft summary page was $4,302 higher than the profit listed on the edit route page.

In the example I used above (with an F-100), the difference is either $2141 or $2142, both before and after the fare change (I'm thinking there's an internal rounding going on that is accounting for the $1 difference).

So, clearly the aircraft summary/route summary screen is using a different "profit" than the edit route screen is.

When I view an airplane's routes, I will often see a profit that is higher than when I edit the same route.  Is there some reason for that?  In one case, the airplane shows a profit that is $4000 higher than what I see when I look at the route's details.

Bugs / [NAB] Airline Rankings sort bug
« on: March 02, 2011, 03:42:42 am »
When you go to the airline rankings page, the default view is to sort by airline value, in descending order.

If you click on the daily passengers header, then it will sort by passengers, in descending order.  Etc.

However, if you click on the fleet size header, it actually sorts in ascending order first.  You have to click it a second time to get it to sort in descending order.

Wish granted.  You are now the greatest producer of cheese and fruit-filled pastries in all of Norway.

I wish for my train to be on time this afternoon.

Game Strategy / Re: The MD90s
« on: February 06, 2011, 01:35:32 am »
I guess my question is, why is the MD90-55 even in the game if it was never built, given that the game won't put any "future" planes (787s, A350s) because we don't know what the final operating specs of those planes will be?

It was available for sale. Nobody bought it, but it was still offered, and designed. The specs were well known. It was just never built.
The Dornier 728 is also available, as well as a proposed stretch, the Do 928, and the shrink, the Do 528. Also the Do-328 stretch i believe.

As for the 787 and A350, well, they haven't even entered service yet. The A350 only exists on paper, and Airbus can't even say exactly how many passengers can be carried.

The 787 and A350 are just as "defined" as the MD90-50 ever was.  Probably more so, since they have signed contracts with airlines to deliver airplanes to a certain spec.  Some of these other planes were never more than paper planes,

I'll accept StephenM's explanation on the 787/A350 that the game ends in 2009, and those planes haven't entered service yet (but, by that standard, the MD-90-50, and the Do728, among others, haven't entered service yet either...).

It's not a big issue that's really bugging me or anything, but just something I found a bit odd.  I mean, if we're going to have proposed airplane variants that nobody ever bought, you could have the 747-500 and -600 from the mid 1990s, the 767-400ERX from around 2000, and the specs for those planes would be just as valid as the specs for any other plane that wasn't built.

Bugs / [Fixed] Operations page error
« on: February 06, 2011, 01:25:21 am »
In world 1699 (user #47487), when I click on the operations link, I get the following chart of market share data:

Quote
Hartsfield - Jackson Atlanta International (ATL) 35.0%
      Denver International (DEN) 66.9%
Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX) 66.1%
      Tokyo Narita International (NRT) 0.0%
Hartsfield - Jackson Atlanta International (ATL) 35.0%
Denver International (DEN) 66.9%
Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX) 66.1%
Tokyo Narita International (NRT) 0.0%
Chicago O'Hare International (ORD) 22.1%
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) 74.5%
Los Angeles International (LAX) 28.9%
Milwaukee - General Mitchell International (MKE) 79.6%

It appears just like it does above, with some cities duplicated, the last few bolded, some indented, etc.

Besides the formatting issues, though, I noticed that, for one thing, it shows my market share at NRT as 0%.  Really, it should be 100% (I'm the only airline at that airport in this world).  Another thing, which I can't duplicate right now, is that earlier it was showing Chicago O'Hare twice, and it actually had a different percentage for each listing (one was 21.something %, the other was 22.something %).

Bugs / [Fixed] Total Gates is not really total gates
« on: February 06, 2011, 01:17:18 am »
On the view airline page, at the bottom of the list of cities you serve, it says "Total Gates:  xxx."   However, that is not really the total number of gates.  Instead, it is the total number of airports you serve.  If it were total gates, the number would be much higher, as airlines probably have multiple gates at their hubs.

Bugs / Re: Lease aircraft via checkbox doesn't work
« on: January 30, 2011, 02:55:49 pm »
Well, the world just ended last night, but it was world 1776.  User ID 47487.

I don't recall the specific aircraft IDs that I was trying to lease, but I do recall that I experienced this same problem early on in the game as well.

The only way to lease the planes was to click the link to lease each plane individually.  It did happen on more than one airplane, and at different times.

ID: Many different planes at different times
Type: Lease via checkbox doesn't work
Description: If I try to lease multiple planes at once by selecting the checkbox next to the plane, and clicking the "Lease" box at the bottom of the screen, it doesn't work.  The page that loads has a screwy layout, and when I try to click the box to lease the planes, nothing happens.

How about showing the scrap value of a plane before we commit to scrapping it?

General Chat / Competition info - how is it sorted?
« on: January 29, 2011, 04:21:49 pm »
When I'm creating or editing routes, the competition info doesn't seem to be sorted in any particular order.  It's generally sorted in order of fares, but even then, it's not always in order.
