« on: August 27, 2007, 01:20:08 am »Quote from: "CornField"Quote from: "blue25"Quote from: "CornField"Not trying to kick you out of Appleton,WI.
Appleton is the center of nowhere, located directly on the corner of nowhere and nothing.
You know WHY you got this treatment.
Just let me have Appleton. I'll move after I make over 2mil. I'm trying to save up enough so I can make a base out of Montreal. I'd never make a base in KC. Do you want a KC gate?
No, I have like 70, with a 100% utilization now,
Montreal is a BAD,BAD,BAD choice......
You have 4 much larger airlines already fighting over it. That would probably be infinitely bad for you. Blue Planet alone is nasty enough to finish you off. Now combine BPA, with others including myself and you won't make money there.
Like I told you, You already know what you have to do to make your problem go away.
Have any suggestions on where I should be based?
i believe thats a decision you have to make.

General Chat / Flying More Than 1 Plane On A Route
« on: August 23, 2007, 10:12:54 pm »What Pod said is true.
Based on our current formula, there is always a price difference for flights on the same route, even flown with the same plane with the same frequency. That would "encourage" players to find a price that would satisfy both flights profit-wise. It works the same in real world as in customers do tend to choose the one airline which they deem better when all operators have the same price on a route. The only difference here in AM is that the formula doesn't weed out flights operated by the same operator. This is done with an aim to discourage players to operate too many flights on the same route.
okay now i see what you were talking about...

It makes sense in a few ways. On a long high volume route sometimes you can't get as many frequencies as you would like out of one aircraft. So, since you can't do 2 or 3 frequencies with one aircraft, you go with one each from 2 or 3, or 2 with one and one from another, etc.
Also, say you are hubbed at LGA. Even if you're only running a few aircraft, it seems like many end up with an hour or 2 left once you're done scheduling them. Using more than one aircraft at the same price for one frequency each on a high volume short distance route like LGA-BOS, or LGA-PHL, is an easy way to maximize your fleet utilization and use those "scrap hours."
that makes sense....thanks
