Game Strategy / New player infor wanted - [W9]

About filling slots before the end of the month, would that be before the end of the game month or the end of the month in real life - the game month should end in 23 days (it is currently the eighth day of August 1961 in the game) but the end of the month in real life is Monday which is tomorrow.  Right now, I can not do any buying of any sort because I am in the red and it looks like it will be about 5-6 game days before I am back in the black.

Off to read the game manual.  Could not find it before I started playing the game - I hate when that happens unless it is a game like minesweeper (has to do with how simple I find minesweeper to be).

This is an add on that I did as an edit - what is PAX - I keep seeing it in posts but cannot find a reference to it in the game manual.

General Chat / my favorite restaurants

Some of these are chains (some nationwide in the USA some possibly worldwide), some are regional (only found in some regions of the USA), some are only found in Arkansas and some are only found places other than Arkansas.

Alley Oops for their service and relatively cost effective - only know of one and it is in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Red Lobster for service and my ability to eat there when I was allergic to most everything other than fish and shellfish - nationwide in the USA far as I know.

Olive Garden for service and their all you can eat soup and bread sticks and salad that comes with your meal - nationwide in the USA I think.

Dairy Queen even though I cannot find it in Arkansas where I now live I have eaten at it in Texas and Florida.

WhatABurger for their big burgers - ate at those quite a few times when I lived in Texas.

Au Bon Pain at Crystal City Plaza III for their selection of pastries I ate there about once a week while I worked in the surrounding Crystal City buildings from August 27 1990 to October 15 1994.  There are quite a few Au Bon Pain franchises in the Washington DC area, apparently, there are none in Arkansas.

Okay, making the changes suggested in your reply, Fleur-de-Lis and noting them as I make the changes.

1st point about the aircraft, I had trouble finding the specifications on the airplanes especially my starter airplane and the distances between different airports which resulted in renting some gates that were too far away from Orlando and then returning them when found out could not run to them (OUCH!! BIG money water there!)

2nd point, I have returned the extra gate but I now have two at MCO and one at Atlanta - should I return the second MCO gate?  Was not sure since you mentioned my having only one extra.

3rd point, I changed to only a single frequency and find that with some fiddling around with the ticket prices by comparing with the competition there that I seem to be maximized for possible earnings on the route I am running.

4th point, I originally started running between MCO and Melbourne International (which is in Melbourne, FL as I well know because I have flown to/from it when visiting my relatives in Florida) but returned the gate there when I figured out I could make more money flying between MCO and ATL.

5th point, I will keep this particular thread bookmarked so it will be easy to find when I have enough money to buy another plane.

6th, 7th, 8th and 9th points are best for me to keep uppermost in my mind for this game - but as to MCO being considered to be a very large airport, maybe I should have taken Melbourne International (MLB) as my home city (heck, I grew up there so I am pretty sure that is considered a smaller airport, I know they cannot take the bigger airplanes there in real life, they tend to use regional aircraft to fly into there).

As I have just joined, I am still on my starter airplane until I have enough game money to lease or buy another one.  I have my departure gate set for Orlando International (MCO/KMCO).  My airline is Pegasus as is my user name.  My airline id is 14466 and my airline code is MCO.  I will need some advice for how to grow my airline the best way at least for the short term then I hope to be able to start helping others.  Since I am still on my starter plane with no others available at this time, I need advice on how far that plane can fly and it might be best for me to be part of an alliance that has gates available within the range of my plane.
