- Whenever I see the KFC CV5800, I immediately think of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Very true :P

-Asia is big, why aren't there more airlines there than in north america or europe
-What is better - a 40 seater or a 400 seater?
-Why does the 747-400D take longer to get from jakarta to singapore than an ATR 72?
-Why did we wait so long for a 1990s world?
-We all want 100% loadfactor when that is not always true in real life
-A twin-engined Convair 880 would look awesome
-I like pie.  Why don't they serve it on airplanes?

Bugs / Create routes bug
« on: August 09, 2008, 09:11:18 pm »
Ok I just introduced a base at Bangkok and want to create a route Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur with a Fokker 70.  So I set my fares and then when I press create route, I'm redirected to the home page.  When I click on 'view routes' the route doesn't show up.
I'm using Firefox.

Game Data / Passenger Capacity Inaccuracies - Airports in Indonesia
« on: August 03, 2008, 12:53:24 am »
You might've noticed my previous thread which identified an error in passenger capacity at Indonesia's second (in airline mogul: sixth!?) biggest airport, however proper information has been scarce.  Well, I've found and am continuing to find more inaccuracies, and I'm going to make it a goal to identify and report any passenger capacity issues in Indonesian airports.  Here's what I've found so far:

Bali-Denpasar Ngurah Rai International Airport
Capacity as listed on Airline mogul: 4,550,389
Actual capacity: 6,311,210
Source: Official site Note: translated from Indonesian.

Surabaya-Juanda International Airport
Capacity as listed on Airline mogul: 2,248,659
Actual capacity*: 9,986,650 (Wikipedia), ~6,000,000-8,000,000 (official site)
Sources*: - Wikipedia article, Official site

Pekanbaru - Sultan Syarif Qasim II International Airport
Capacity as listed on Airline mogul: 675,277
Actual capacity: 1,513,561
Source: A-Z World Airports Online

Palembang - Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport
Capacity as listed on Airline mogul: 551,330
Actual capacity: 1,130,878
Source: A-Z World Airports Online

Padang - Minangkabau International Airport
Capacity as listed on Airline mogul: 458,362
Actual capacity: 1,361,360
Source: A-Z World Airports Online

Jakarta - Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport
Capacity as listed on Airline mogul: 260,824
Actual capacity: 329,052

Batam - Hang Nadim International Airport

Banda Aceh - Sultan Iskandarmuda Airport

Game Data / PAX error: Surabaya - Juanda Intl Airport - Indonesia
« on: July 31, 2008, 11:49:48 pm »
Correction (from second paragraph)
Quote
This airport is estimated can accommodate 6 million to 8 million passengers per year and 120000 tons cargo / year.

What you said is the amount of passengers the airport currently accomodates.  We'll want to look into more research...

Game Data / PAX error: Surabaya - Juanda Intl Airport - Indonesia
« on: July 31, 2008, 08:20:30 pm »
Ok I know that Wikipedia is not very reliable (to you) but it does say that Surabaya - Juanda International in Indonesia has a capacity of 9,217,415.  There is a source link for that (in Indonesian) but the link is broken... I'm sure that link was a reliable source and was correct data.  Could you change it, please?

Game Data / 737 classic high-gross weight variants?
« on: July 29, 2008, 04:41:21 am »
Note: the information you are about to see is not from either Wikipedia or the Boeing site.
According to Airliners.net, there is a 737-300 High-Gross-Weight variant (actually an option) that has an MTOW of up to 62,823kg (138,500lb).  The range for the 737-300HGW is listed at 3,400NM with 140 passengers.  Since the range value is for a seating of 140/149 passengers, we'll need to do more research, possibly contacting Boeing via e-mail.
--
Airliners.net also lists a high-gross-weight option for the 737-400, which has an MTOW of up to 68,040kg (150,000lb) and a range of 3850km (2080nm) with 140 passengers.  Once again, the range value is for a seating of 140/188 passengers, so more research and possibly contacting Boeing is needed.
--
And once again, the 737-500 has a high-gross weight option.  The 737-500HGW has an MTOW of up to 60,555kg (133,500lb) and a range of 4444km (2400nm) with all 132 passengers.  Since this value is correct for a full load of passengers, no extra research is needed.

Note:
High Gross Weight (HGW) variants of the 737 next-gen 737-600, -700, -800 and -900 are all present in the aircraft list.
--------
In addition to what I've found at airliners.net, a UK-based 737-related website posts the following passenger figures for the 737 original:
-The 737-100 is certified to seat up to 124 (100 in AM).
-The 737-200 is certified to seat up to 136 (115 or 130 in AM).

I don't think the figures on this site are very accurate, but it's worth the research...

Bugs / [Fixed]Double MD-87 bug
« on: July 29, 2008, 03:35:21 am »
In the aircraft list there appears to be two MD-87s:  The McDonnell Douglas MD-87 and the McDonnell-Douglas MD-87 (note the dash between McDonnell and Douglas in the second example).  Is it possible to fix this?

Game Data / MISSING PLANE - 747-300SR
« on: July 24, 2008, 08:42:32 pm »
The only SR variants of the 747 available are the -100SR and the -400D.  What happened to the built-for-JAL 747-300SR?  It is not present in the aircraft list.  Here are some details if you guys want to add it:

First delivery: March 1983
Capacity: 624 passengers
Speed: Same as 747-300
Engines: Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7A (205.3kN), General Electric CF6-50E2 (243.5kN)
Range: ???
Cockpit Crew: 3
Turn time: ??? (Most likely same as 747-300)
Price: ???
Fuel Usage: ???

Note: the 747-300SR i generally the same as the -300 with only a few differences, most notably in range

Source: http://www.zap16.com/civ%20fact/civ%20B747-300.htm
Unfortunately, details on the 747-300SR are rare around the internet.  Hopefully you guys will be able to fill in the blanks for me so that this aircraft will be present in airline mogul...

My logo wont change!!!
I recently renamed from Midwest Spirit Air to American Spirit Airways and created a new logo (287x90, within size regulations).
So I go to the upload logo screen, upload the new logo, and it says it successfully uploaded.  When I check my Admin screen and my airline page, the old logo is still there!  I logged off/logged on, and nothing changes.  I do it over and over again, and nothing changes.  Do you have to wait till next month or something?  I have no idea...
